From the Headmistress’ Desk Once again the time has come to start putting together what we have achieved over the term. Alhamdulillah we stand committed to provide quality education where teaching and learning is a joyful experience as we believe in laying superior foundation through excellent early childhood education. Our branch continues to provide a balanced curriculum that develops a child as a confident, secure and happy person who can interact with the community and emerge in future as a global citizen and brilliant leader of tomorrow. We encourage children as active participants in their own learning. Every learnerâ€&#x;s potential is recognized and appreciated and therefore they emerge as passionate lifelong learners. This term we have worked specially on nurturing a genuine and dependable relationship with our children, their families and the community. Our main aim has always been to facilitate you and our children with the best environment possible. The trust and the confidence you have in us is evident in the increasing student strength. This year with the grace of Allah we managed to hire new premises to accommodate our growing class I & IIâ€&#x;s (all 3 sections) initially. The new premises package includes spacious, well lit and ventilated rooms and a vast playground to encourage in house and inter branch sports activities. The children loved the new experience of using a huge playground. Here it is pertinent to highlight that we have been joined by a very senior member of BSS Ms. Saadia Zafar (senior mistress) in our new premises. We welcome her and hope to benefit from her experience. As always we extend a note of thanks to our worthy parents for being patient, supportive and cooperative. New Premises The new premises was hired in August, 2012 to cater to the needs of the growing strength of our students. Initially class II children were moved to the new building and very soon class I also joined them. Located on a relatively quiet Service Lane, the branch provides a safe and secure environment to the children. It is being looked after by Mrs. Fariha Usman as HM and Mrs. Saadia Zafar as SM. With the present strength of 110, and a staff of 11 teachers, the branch has had its, 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

The themes used for the Assemblies have influenced the lives of the children in a positive manner. It begins with a 100% participation at all levels, working closely together with the teacher the students learn the importance of taking turns, patience, listening and most of all confidence. It also inculcates a spirit of sharing and taking responsibility.
Colour Days 10.09.2012 Colour days have been the most popular events in the first term for the early years. The reason is obvious as they not only develop the very basic concept of colours around us, they also help build vocabulary and aesthetic sense along with the joy of finding colourful matchings to be worn for the day.
Educational Visit to PNCA 13.09.2012 Educational trips and visits play a fundamental role in the childâ€&#x;s understanding of the world around us and help him develop links. Students of class I and II were taken to PNCA. The trip to PNCA was a clear example. As 6th September was celebrated in the school assembly and the children had shared their knowledge of the Indo-Pak 1965 war, they could relate to each and every event drawn and exhibited in the Art council. Their questions showed that their brains were fast at work on relating facts discussed with events seen in historically painted master pieces.
Hands on Experience Pre-Nursery students had a number of activities in which they had hands on experience – as we believe in learning through fun & experience. Activity 'My Hands' in which they explored the properties of flour by using their hands. They studied the texture, colour, softness, hardness, and smell and observed that its shape can be manipulated to form a ball or anything else. Our little learners enjoyed doing a lot more activities like.

Mrs. Asim is one of our parents and she came well prepared with an animated power point presentation for the dental care and had a checkup plan for the children. The children were particularly interested in the denture and the tools she had brought with her which the dentists use in their routine checkups. Her visit was reinforced by a follow up worksheet for the children to take home. Orientation Sessions 14.09.2012 Curriculum orientation sessions are the basis of a grand academic start as far as developing a good understanding with the parents is concerned. It gives a clear insight and guidelines to comprehend the jargon of our curricula, the assessment criteria and last but not the least expectations which the parents and the school have from the child‟s stay with the
system. The sessions for all levels were attended by good number of the parents. Especially in early years orientation, demonstrations on storytelling, group work & board work were given by teachers. Dodge the Ball & Tug of War Sports are known for producing the most remarkable athletes, sound characters, influential leaders and memorable heroes. Believing in this quote we started our sports activities early this year. On Tuesday, 2nd October 2012, the first round of Dodge the Ball and Tug of War for classes 1 and 2 was held in the new premises. The match was against F-10 branch. The results were as follows: Class Match Winner I Dodge the ball F-8/2 II Tug of war F-10 Global Dignity Day 17.10.2012 Introducing dignity day at such a young age was a big challenge but the concept was very well understood as it was brought down to their level and the theme of the day was that little acts of respecting others are important and they help you gain respect in return. Class two children were able to share cute, little stories where they were considerate of othersâ€&#x; rights. All children along with staff, support staff and office staff wore badges saying I believe in human dignity. Poetry Recitation 14.11.2012 Following its traditions BKI F-8/2 hosted its Poetry Recitation Day for all levels as a special treat for mothers and both grandmothers fourth year in a row, on 14th November,2012. This event is an attempt to understand, appreciate and learn from some of the well known poetic master pieces. Each of the pieces selected had a moral behind it and it was noticed that the children showed their understanding of the verses spoken and hence itâ€&#x;s not just literature being presented, it was actually a lesson learnt. The audience particularly enjoyed the Urdu Poetry recitation by class II and the school choir.
