It has taught them leadership qualities and teamwork as well. The day inaugurated by a promise of a brighter future as the new council members got ready to be invested. “The skill of writing is to create a context in which other people can think”. Edwin Schlossberg A creative writing competition was hosted by our branch. The prime motive behind this activity was exploring the talented students from classes 6, 7 and 8, thus giving them a platform to nurture their skills. All SGO 2 schools participated in this competition. Two students were picked from each class, one for English and one for Urdu creative writing. On the day of competition the candidates were given sixty minutes to pen down their thoughts. Topics were assigned to each level along with the criteria. As soon as the time was up, students handed over the writings to the respective teachers who sealed the envelopes and sent them to the judges. The judges for the competition were Mrs. Rukhshanda Asad the coordinator for Secondary’s SGO II and Mrs. Wajeeha Rizvi the coordinator for Urdu.
symbolism and for the reformation. A strong art education promotes the skills children need to be successful. Exposure to art education promotes self-directed learning and sharpens critical and creative skills. To promote such learning, HSPR always ensures that its students get as much opportunity to sharpen their creative skills as possible by participating in various art competitions. An art competition was held by Islamabad traffic police. The theme was road safety. The main purpose of this competition was to create awareness among young children about the importance of road safety and traffic signs. Many schools from Rawalpindi and Islamabad participated in it and our branch was one of them. The students got a chance to express their feelings about road safety through their artistic creations. The students made posters on road safety using a variety of mediums to portray their thinking.
Refreshments were also arranged for the students who participated in the competition and the teachers accompanying them.
