The blazing bon fire decreased the chill in the air and the remaining energy was provided by the students who enjoyed themselves dancing and devouring the scrumptious dinner that was arranged by the students themselves.
The Annual Drama Festival was held in the Bahria Auditorium on 10 th of February. A tough competition ensued with dramas presented by five BSS Cambridge Branches. Our play “Sorry Wrong Number” which was jointly presented by PECHS Cambridge-I and nd Cambridge-II, won the 2 prize.
Career Advising Session: In order to make the students and parents aware of the different A Level subject options a CA session was held in the school for parents and then subsequently for students. This session touched many topics pertinent to the future career of the students.
Sporting and Cultural Visit: Like last year a cultural visit hosted by Newlands School UK will be taking place in the months of June, July and August. All groups will be accompanied by Newlands Ambassadors nominated from the school staff. The start of the year was filled with activity for the students of Cambridge-I PECHS. With everything from an education fair to a bonfire, January was full of activity that kept students and teachers occupied. During the first week, the school played host to representatives from a variety of courses including CIMA, ACCA and more. The representatives set up stalls within the premises and were present throughout the day during which students came and discussed the offers and courses. This enabled students to gain a much more in-depth perspective on their career paths. As the month progressed, the 3rd IBA Model United Nations Conference (also known as MUNIK) drew close and many students from the branch participated. There were two delegations from the school representing Singapore and South Africa. Students found the conference to be a great tool for enhancing and cultivating their public speaking skills as they engaged in 3 days of diplomacy. Our students participated in the CIMA Quiz and won 2nd and 3rd positions. The teams consisted the following students. 2nd Position: Ahmed Anees Abdul Ghani Shaikh Muhammad Omar 3rd Position: Muhammad Usman Siddiqui Anjila Ramesh Hanzala Yafeez

A Level Bonfire The chilly air mixed with tension as CIE exams draw nearer made everyone feel the need for a break from all the stress. Keeping up with the school tradition the Annual Bonfire for 2012 was arranged by the branch’s very own organizing committee which comprises of students themselves. What resulted was a fun filled night that incorporated musical performances from a former beaconite as well as one from a current student. The event had a professional D.J, a dance floor complete with a light show for the perfect dance party. Not to mention a blazing fire to cosy up to. Overall it was a fun, successful event which provided students with the perfect opportunity to unwind. Another interesting event that took place was the A level’s Crazy day. Keeping up with the tradition here at PECHS, it was a fun, whacky day which provided a way for A level students to break free and let loose. The crazy day also included a bake sale, featuring sweet delights and stalls put up by the students. Now the teachers’ expectations have to be met and academics are to be focused upon, as the A Level Mock Examinations will be beginning in the 4th week of March.
