From head desk: Dear Parents, It is so gratifying to see our children back to school after the long closure. As this is the last newsletter of the year 2020-2021, I want to thank all our BSS parents for their never ending support, participation in your child’s education which made a tremendous difference. We are indeed a joyous and caring community with the common goal of nurturing responsible students and promoting high levels of learning experiences for them. First Day of School: Schools were re-opened in first week of March after the winter break . The setup was ready for the first day so that every little heart would feel encouraged and energized. Students were welcomed with open hearts and devotion. Teachers welcomed their new students with goodie bags and captured their memorable images. As per the current scenario prevailing in the country, all the SOP's were followed.
Women's Day Celebration:
Women day was celebrated to encourage and value the importance of women in society. A fun gathering was arranged by KG Campus for teachers to acknowledge the appreciate being a woman. Cake cutting ceremony was arranged.
Visit of COO and CD Respected Chief Operating Officer Mr. Ali Ahmed Khan and Cluster Director Mr. Amaar Haider visited Quetta kindergarten Campus in the month of March. They met the students and management. The infrastructure of school and a physical play area for student's was discussed.
Sam's Sunflower
Dig, plant ,water and grow. Plantation activity with moms of Pre-Nursery in relation to their core reader "Sam's Sunflower" was organized where children painted, planted pots and plants with moms.
Introduction to Professions Class 1: Students of Grade 1 participated in an activity showing their likeness on the topic "My Favourite Profession". They were dressed up in the attire assigned to them and role played.
Pakistan Resolution Day:
Pakistan Resolution Day was celebrated with high spirits on March 24, 2021 in the school premises. Students of all levels participated and performed in the activities. The importance of this day was explained to them. They were dressed up in green and white to show patriotism. KG Campus prepared different activities and performances like quiz competition, national songs, Pakistan Day crafts and speech. A story telling session was arranged by the urdu teacher to explain the importance of the day.
Mini Sports Gala: "Exercise not only changes your body, it changes your mind, your attitude and your mood." Physical and mental well being is very important. Therefore, a mini Sport's Gala was organized. Classes PreNursery and Nursery had exciting race competitions, where they participated with zeal and enthusiasm.
Culmination of Theme "Floating Away" KG's : Culmination of the theme "Floating Away", was held where student's of KG had interesting hands on activities. They explained the Water Lifecyle through a cut past activity. Student's were able to Add and Subtract different numbers by counting rain drops. It was a fun learning experience.
Introduction to five Senses PreNursery: Learning about the 5 senses is a great thematic unit for pre-Nursery, especially at the beginning of the term. Young children are naturally curious about the world around them and often use their senses to explore and learn. Children had an outdoor activity where all the five senses were involved and different body parts were identify that go along with the senses.
First Parent Teacher Meeting Term II PTM is a great opportunity for both the parents and teacher to work for the betterment of the child. First Parent Teacher Meeting of the Term II was held in the month of March. The concerned parents met the teachers to discuss the academic performance of their child. Yellow Day Class Nursery A very important part of learning during early years is identification and recognition of colours. Students of Nursery celebrated "Yellow Day" in the month of April. An outdoor area was set with various attractive objects, toys and real things in yellow colour. The students were dressed up in yellow. children participated in different activities related to the specific colour and enjoyed a day by getting introduced to the colour of freshness, and happiness.
BSU Online Learning As per the notification from the government, the schools were closed in person from April 19 till Eid-ul-Fitir. Beaconhouse moved to complete BSU online teaching during this period. The parents were communicated via Beaconhouse mobile app, and BSU Classrooms.
Online plantation activity "Earth day" On April 22, 2021 Earth Day was celebrated during online classes. Students performed
different activities like they had live plantation and craft work. They learned how to save the planet Earth and the concept of recycling.
Virtual Mother's Day Celebration "A mother is one who can take the place of all others but whose place no one else can take", Cardinal Meymillod.
During BSU online classes students celebrated Mother's Day with their lovely mothers. Our super Moms were invited in online classes. Children made cards for their moms and teachers made appreciation certificates for honourable mothers.
Back to Physical Schooling On June 2, 2021 school was resumed to physical classes. Strict Covid SOP's were followed. Students were instructed to maintain social distance. All staff members warmly welcome the students.
PSHE "Role Play on Safety Class KG"
KG students participated in the role play on safety, they learned how to identify problems and communicate their ideas and feelings about dangerous situations. They learned to be critical problem solvers in different scenarios. They enacted the role of a safety helper and the use of first aid box in case of emergency.
Fruit Day Pre-Nursery To Promote healthy eating habits , the keen learners of Pre-Nursery celebrated Fruit Day with joy. All student were in colored dresses. They were encourage to take fruits in their daily meals.
Theme "Animals" Class Nursery During the introduction of the reader “Enormous Elephant” different activities were organized by the teachers like animal hunt, guessing game etc. The reader was introduced by story sack. In the end student's performed on an animal song in which they wore animals’ costumes and masks. By these interactive activities students were able to identify animals and their characteristics.
Second PTM Term II To discuss the performance of the learner 2nd PTM of 2021 was organized. More than 85% of the parents attended the PTM. A survey form was filled by the parents to collect the feedback. Refreshment were served.
Graduation Ceremony "My teacher says I am graduating so I guess for now my studying is done!" Graduation ceremony for Kindergarten was organized . Students performed on the graduation song. The certificates and degrees were awarded to little graduates. At the end pictures were taken and takeaways were given.
Inter School Digi-Inteligencia Contest 2021
Student's of class KG participated in Inter School DigiInteligencia Contest 2021. With the help of teacher's students made video presentation on app Canva where they presented the cultural diversity of Balochistan. Student's were awarded with certificates.
Students of Grade 1 participated in a Virtual project "Uniqueness of Individuals". The digitally literate, globally competent and inquisitive learners of BSS from different regions collaborated on a single plate form to be aware of the cultural differences. Students of KG Campus Quetta participated and discussed the cultural diversity of Balochistan. Moreover, they performed live on Google meet to share different cultural values through performance on the forum.
Interactive Activities Throughout the Term Beaconhouse believes in learning through play. Several hands on activities were planned by teachers through out the term. These activities give children a wise and rather than giving them a script to follow.
