Join us for various types of art brought to you by instructors of the Artists Association of Beaumont! All of these classes are workshop formats, so you can pick and choose which ones you would like to experience! Unless otherwise stated, supplies will be provided for all classes.
OIL PAINTINGS BASIC WORKSHOP
In this fun multi-week workshop you will learn while you paint, the basics of how to work with oil paints. Learn techniques of blending and layering colours to create intensity and luminosity. Make some new friends and share in the joy of learning the basics of painting. At the end you will take home 2 of your own works of art! STAINED GLASS – SCRAP GLASS BIRDS
Join our wonderful instructor in this fun interactive class where you will learn the basics of stained glass. In this class you will create 2 scrap glass birds in just a few hours. You will learn to grind, foil, and solder your piece together bringing it to life. There is no experience required, just the ability to stand for the duration of the class. STAINED GLASS – LANTERN
Join our skilled instructor in this 2 day workshop to create your own Stained Glass Lantern. Over the course of this workshop you will learn how to cut, grind, foil, and solder your very own lantern. A variety of patterns will be provided to choose from as well as a wonderful assortment of glass in many colours and textures. There is no experience required, just the ability to stand for the duration of the class. COMMUNITY PROGRAMS (YOUTH) - WINTER
YOUNG ARTISTS OF BEAUMONT (7-11 YEARS OLD)
With an eye to promoting self-expression through art, this course uses basic mediums of pencils, crayons, pastels, charcoal and water colour to allow students to develop their creativity. They are taught some of the basics of shapes and form, drawing, colour mixing, and perspective. ENGINEERING FOR KIDS JR. ROBOTICS (4-6 YEARS OLD)
The Jr. Robotics curriculum is designed to introduce students to the concepts of robotics, automation, programming, and the Engineering Design Process. Robotics 101 program is designed to introduce students to both robot building as well as programming. The students will build robots with Lego to accomplish a specific task while using their imagination to make their robot better than the basic robot. BABYSITTER SAFETY COURSE (11-15 YEARS OLD)
Get ready to be the best-prepared babysitter on the block! You will learn techniques for handling emergency situations such as bleeding, choking, treatment for burns, poisoning, wounds and artificial respiration. Participants will receive manuals and a certificate upon successfully completing the course. Our experienced instructor will lead the class through an Introduction to Theatre. Children will have the amazing opportunity to be part of a short play/performance that incorporates all elements of theatre including acting, movement, costumes, props and much, much more! This class will introduce them to the fundamentals of theatre, acting and improvisation in a fun, informal non-pressured environment. This class is the perfect way to let children express themselves, with their talent and creativity shining as bright as the stars of Broadway! 6-8 Years Old

In this course students will learn the basics of how to tell a story through comic book art! Dribbling and shooting a basketball has never been so fun! At the Sportball Basketball Academy your child will learn all of the fundamentals of basketball in a fun, safe atmosphere. Our class is designed to give our “Sportballers” the confidence they need to jump onto a basketball team and hopefully love playing the sport of basketball for life. Introduce your child to the exciting world of gymnastics under the guidance of a NCCP certified coach. Join our qualified and FUN instructor for 30 minutes of exploration, creativity, and play. Parents will be assisting their child on various equipment (beams, mats, tunnels, mini-trampoline, etc.).
