Happy Easter to all my wonderful readers!! If you pay close attention to this article, you will see hints of orange throughout its pages. Orange is meant to bring a sense of soothing, so you will find specific articles encouraging relaxation. It also is a color of friendship and friendliness. You will also find articles relating to friendship in this issue and some special social media questions directed towards friendship. My hope is that this issue brings you some peace and soothes your soul, as well as offers some insight and encouragement for your current friendships and those to come in the future. Beautiful is a collection of art and illustrations, depicting inner and outer beauty. It is stories, it is real, it is life, it is pictures and it is just pure beauty. Beautiful is fashion, health, beauty tips, encouragement, life, art and truth. Beautiful is about you, your story, your life, your love, your pain and your fears. Karissa Hagemeister is on a life long journey in the pursuit of love, beauty and truth. Not only does she want to discover these things for herself but she desires to share them with anyone willing to watch and listen. Beautiful & Dauntless was birthed out of this desire. She enjoys modeling, acting and singing. She has her own fashion line and partners her business with a jewelry line, Chloe + Isabel. In July of 2016, Karissa published her first book. Her future plans are to revamp the fashion & entertainment industry with the love, truth and beauty through both her fashion business and Beautiful & Dauntless magazine.
KARISSA HAGEMEISTER Assistant Editor Jackie Cullum, 26, and is a wife, mom, and Chairperson for the Missions Committee at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. She has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Saint Leo University and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Southeastern University. She plans on using her degrees in the missions field oversees. Her passion is for children and she wants to work with orphans by planting orphanages to help get children off the streets and providing them with an education so that they can have a brighter future.

FashionEditor Arnette German is a native of Mt. Pleasant, SC. She took her leap of faith and finally decided to yield to her passion for fashion by enrolling in the online Graduate Program of Fashion Journalism at Academy Art University in San Francisco, CA. No stranger to the stage, Arnette is a member of the Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe in Sarasota, FL. Presently calling Bradenton, FL home, spends her free time either volunteering at her local church and/or spending time with friends and family, especially her best friend, affectionately referred to as by her 7 year old niece-Jaya Yvlene Kistia German. A foodie and a lover of nature and the arts-if she is not fishing, frequenting thrift stores/boutiques along w/other everyday joys‌Zumba being an added one, life is definitely in some shape and/or form and fashion being lived to the fullest.

enning this month’s article, so many topics and different angles came to my mind but what kept coming back to the forefront was to simply offer words of encouragement. First, by simply saying...Thank You! Thank you to a special group of individuals, I call, The Givers, that are tired-be it physically, mentally and/or emotionally. The Givers, are sacrificial lambs, ones that inherently were thrown into “giving” roles i.e. the ear, the go-to-person and the strong one who rarely not doesn’t have one to replenish them after pouring themselves…emptying themselves into others. Thank you for your heart! It is because of your heart that makes you the most sought out after and invaluable human beings. Please know you are not forgotten and are very appreciated. We know it is because of your empathy, wisdom and wittiness that permits many outcomes to be different and better altogether! And, because the strong sometimes aren’t thought of as “not having it together” or “having moments” like the vast majority, can you come to us like we come to you to get that point of contact you need. Trust, you all definitely make the world go around! Again, thank you and know you are loved! Secondly, for ones that are simply ready to give up…be it your dream, goal and etc. Don’t! In this season, persevering is key. Yea, I know for some it’s taking a tad bit longer for things to manifest to where you’d like them to be but keep marching towards your goal. In spite of what is or isn’t going on, how you feel to who isn’t there to cheer you on...now isn’t 13
while longer. Now is the time, to continue to P-U-S-H! Some know this acronym for Praying Until Something Happens or maybe for you it could be Persevere Until Something Happens! Either way, both call for action coupled with commitment and faith. A strategy structured through pain, sweat, blood and tears-crossing the finish line is right around corner. So, keeping moving towards your destiny‌your purpose! Know you are worth it and you owe this to yourself. Can’t you hear me screaming for you at the top of the lungs everyday? Well, I am! Know greatness lies inside of you and everything you need to be all you deem yourself to be is already in the inside of you! At the beginning of this year, I made a commitment to take better care of my total health. This meant the food that I ate, exercising, and it also meant the types of skin care and hair care products that I used. In the past, I have been guilty of buying whatever hair care products sound the coolest when my current shampoo or conditioner runs out. However, I would pay little to no attention to what these products actually contained or what they were or were not doing to my hair. My hair is naturally very healthy because I do not use heat on often and I rarely use any products in it other than shampoos and conditioners. I also do special coconut oil treatments in it on occasion. I do battle with split ends and I feel like my hair had begun to lose some of its youthful shine. At the beginning of the year, I stumbled across a company called MONAT. It turns out that this is just what I was looking for to take my hair health to the next level. MONAT’s products are actually good for your hair (See the chart to the right ----> this is what they do not use).

I started using the Revive shampoo, conditioner, Rejuvebead hair serum and hair mask. I noticed a difference after the first use of the shampoo, conditioner and hair serum. I have these little fly-aways on the top of my head. They are such a pain because they never behave and lay down with the rest of my hair. However, after using these products once, those fly-aways became tamed. After continual use, my hair’s shine began to return, as well as a beautiful sleekness. My hair is growing faster than usual. It looks and feels healthy.

Out of all the products I have used of MONAT though, my favorite has to be the hair mask. After using that one time, I fell in love. It made my hair look, feel and smell so beautifully. I am not big on selling products and I do not support products that do not work but this product is a must. I highly recommend it, as well as the other hair care products that MONAT has to offer. As there are different types of hair, MONAT has created different products for the different hair types. Growing up, Trinity Dobbs was a very energetic child. She always brightened up the room wherever she went. One day, that light went out. She lost hope. She didn’t know who she was or where she belonged. But then, God stepped in. He told her to follow her dreams and don’t give up. Now Trinity is an up and coming actor, writer, director, speaker, Zumba Instructor, and singer. She uses the power of her testimony and her passion for other people to encourage them to keep going. Her goal is to love and encourage people and share the love of Christ with everyone. For without Him, we are nothing. 38

DAUN LESS Adrian “AAV” Valdez is a songwriter, producer and rapper with a vision to write music that inspires people to look past their problems or current situations and move towards better ones. His dream is to one day demolish the negative stereotypes and resurrect the true essence of Hip Hop. Hailing from San Antonio, TX, AAV is on a mission to reestablish a positive perception of the Hip Hop Culture. Since the inception of his career, as emphasized by his debut album entitled “True 2 The Game”, AAV has devoted his work to creating fun, uplifting and entertaining music for all people. His most recent project entitled 5150 (a reference to the police code for an unstable or crazy person) is a look into his personal journey though not only life but in finding himself, as well as a strong nod to how is Faith and trust in Christ has helped him get to where he is today. Buffalo Chicken WRAP Ingredients: 1 Cup of shredded, cooked chicken breast meat Wrap of your choice Cheese of your choice 1 Cup of Spinach, shredded 1 Cup of Tomatoes, diced Buffalo Sauce Ranch Dressing Optional: onions, lemon juice and cilantro

Directions: Cook the chicken breasts thoroughly and then shred. Mix in cheese, buffalo sauce and ranch. Heat the wrap in a pan and add the chicken mixture on top of the wrap. Remove after a few minutes of heating on the stove top. Place the spinach and tomatoes inside the wrap and add more sauce if desired. Eat right away. Enjoy. 53

A Friend Loves At All Times 63
What does it mean to be a friend? Each of us would answer that question differently. For me, I would say that a friend is someone who thinks of you often and remembers to say hello or drop a few lines when they think of you. A friend is someone that wants to spend time with you, cares about your well-being, and has your best intentions in mind. A friend would offer encouragement towards the best options, would lend a helping hand when needed, and would be a shoulder to cry on when the tears start rolling. The definition of friendship varies for each person because we each love uniquely. The way we love is the way we show friendship. However, friendship is not all about us. It is a two-sided relationship. This means that we can love in a friendship our own way, but we also need to understand how our friend receives love.

I have some friends that I call fair-weather friends. They seem to come around only when they need something from me. They operate more on a one-sided version of friendship. They love out of their convenience and do not realize that one of the best ways to show me that they are my friend is by spending time with me, even when they do not want something from me. I have other friends that are extremely affectionate. They are very touchy and I am not so much. However, I know that this is the way that they feel and receive love, so I choose to step out of my comfort zone to love them in a way that they can accept it and really see that I am their friend. In order to have friends, we need to be friendly. This means learning to love your friends in the way that they need and desire it the most. Don’t be afraid to ask what makes them feel loved and at the same time, don’t be afraid to share what makes you feel loved. We all need someone in our life. We all need friends. Be friendly in order to have friends. 65
ABOUT DAUNTLESS The second half of this magazine is now being taken over by guys, for guys. Since the creation of this magazine, January 2017, we have excelled at offering real life stories, advice and insight into daily matters. Our writers share what is on their heart in order to bring some life to your current situation. Up to this point, much of the material has been more “lady focused” but we hate to leave out our male counterparts, as they need special rays of light to impact their life as well. In May 2017, after receiving much feedback from males asking for more content geared towards them, our wheels started turning. We came up with the idea of having the dual magazine, but we need a name. After conducting a poll on social media, we were given some insight as to what a guy might prefer to be thought of as, and DAUNTLESS was the winner. Below are a few of the reasons as to why Dauntless is now the name of the second half of our e-mag. So, gentlemen, as you are reading, think of yourself in these terms:
“Dauntless means, ‘I am BOLD, COURAGEOUS, and GALLANT. Which trumps all other choices. IMHO.” - Larry “Dauntless for sure. Dauntless means, ‘Showing FEARLESSNESS and DETERMINATION.’ That is how I would like to be defined.” - Arman
