Green light for AIT Online Accredited Courses to stay
A
IT are delighted to announce that AIT Online Accredited Courses are here to stay as a more permanent option for your business. In addition, in a new development, video recorded assessments can now be accepted as part of any AIT Online Accredited Course. AIT first introduced Online Accreditation as a swift response to the pandemic in March 2020, when in-person education was prohibited. By enabling accredited training providers to deliver their courses via the internet using Skype, Facetime, Zoom or similar, educators could continue to operate and professionals ensure that their training and skills were kept up to date. Now, not only have AIT confirmed that they will continue to offer AIT Online Accreditation, the membership and insurance organisation have the green light to offer accredited training providers the option of including video pre-recorded 2
assessments in their online syllabus, offering comment to the student at a l ater date. Those wishing to move to this form of assessment should notify the AIT Accreditation team so that the necessary notes can be made on your accreditation policy. AIT Online Accreditation is available in addition to face-to-face learning accreditation, priced at a one-off fee of €40 per course. AIT also recently announced that new tier to its beauty and hair course accreditation system has been introduced, enabling training providers to gain accreditation for up to three courses for just €220. Previously, the minimum number of courses that educators could apply for accreditation for was 10. AIT Accreditation www.aitireland.com accreditation@aitireland.com

Meet Natalia – Dermalogica’s first virtual human
P
rofessional skincare experts Dermalogica are set to revolutionise their education capabilities with the introduction of a virtual human which can be used to train skincare professionals on the science behind skin. In creating Natalia, the brand has drawn upon photorealistic metahuman technology used in the gaming industry. This unique form of digital human technology enables educators to simulate skin conditions such as ageing, dehydration and sensitivity, helping students to understand how the skin responds to natural and environmental triggers. The virtual reality model will be used in videos and VR simulations accessible to users via Dermalogica’s internal channels, progressing from the need for real-life case studies and before-and-after comparisons. For example, during the launch of Dermalogica’s Awaken Peptide Eye Gel, 5
Natalia was used to demonstrate how the skin and muscle surrounding the eye area can be weakened over time, with viewers able to see how the fat supporting the eye area migrates into the lower lid, resulting in undereye puffiness that contributes to the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The brand plans to introduce new ways to use virtual human technology throughout 2022, to help educate professional skin therapists and consumers across multiple channels. Commenting on the launch of Natalia and how she will benefit Dermalogica’s educational resources, Aurelian Lis, the brand’s Global CEO, says: “We can now use metaverse technology to train millions of consumers and hundreds of thousands of therapists about changing skin conditions. As education, training over 100,000 skin therapists per year, it’s cool to visually show skin changes and aesthetic treatment techniques in a way previously unimaginable.” Click Here to Read More >
