The building forms the northern terminus of the main north-south axis of the existing Preston Ridge campus and as such creates a new northern quadrangle that future buildings will be oriented around. A large central atrium space that marks this axial terminus serves as the main organizational feature of the building.

TEC DE MONTERREY ATHLETICS MASTER PLAN MONTERREY, MEXICO | COMPREHENSIVE ATHLETIC MASTER PLAN FOR ALL UNIVERSITY ATHLETICS INCLUDING PLANNING FOR 10,000 SEAT FOOTBALL/SOCCER STADIUM | BECK: MASTER PLANNING, ARCHITECTURE, PRE-CONSTRUCTION

The primary goal of the new masterplan was to better connect the university’s athletic facilities to the main campus. Moving the stadium north allowed a linear park on the site of the old stadium to function as this connection.

A key design goal for Estadio Borregos was to create a structure that fits within its context and was inviting and approachable. The public is welcomed right off the street to catch a glimpse of the field.

The new Blue Devil Tower is a 5-level, 97,000 SF press tower and houses 22 luxury suites. The club level offers 858 seats complemented by upscale food service. The fourth floor includes the press box, camera booths, coaches’ boxes and network broadcast space.

The Louise Herrington School of Nursing promotes the interaction of students and faculty in a high-tech, cutting edge, and collaborative environment. A natural ventilation system in lieu of mechanical HVAC was a key design element of the new academic buildings with a focus on sustainability and resiliency. Optimized ventilation slots on the curtain wall system with clerestory openings provide natural ventilation to academic classrooms and co-working spaces.

The building is lifted above grade to provide a portal which links the primary student promenade linking both sides of the campus which creates a centralized exterior room for the campus. The centerpiece of the library is a large scale atrium which is wrapped by a monumental stair that culminates in an exterior terrace which becomes the building’s primary identity facing the main public plaza.

Originally concieved as a renovation, Trinity Hall was changed to a new construction project after detailed pricing analysis done by the Beck Pre-Construction team. For the same budget, the new build project will be able to better serve the University’s Faculty.

As, the eastern most outpost in the Collin College system, it was very important that the project serve as an important beacon for both the college and the surrounding community. The design solution for the 75 acre site emphasizes an architectural vernacular familiar to the agriculture-based region while also reflecting Collin College’s contemporary edge to academic programming.
