of the country are desperately looking for signs of daffodils and butterflies amidst melting snow drifts, we’ve been enjoying beautiful spring weather all winter long here in South Florida. The continuous winter storms have brought more Members and prospective members to Fort Lauderdale, so it’s certainly been a busy season at the Club! Throughout this season we’ve heard amazing comments from many of you, your guests and prospective members. New members have been enamored with the Club and we have heard over and over again that their favorite part of the Club since joining has been “the people”. One new member commented, “Everyone, including the members and the staff, are very personable and friendly. It's been great. Keep up the high standards and quality.” Another said, “My favorite thing about the Club is the people. Everybody, and I mean everybody, has been kind and friendly.” Thank you for always offering a warm welcome to any new or prospective members and for always supporting your Club. It truly makes

CRCC a wonderful place for us all to enjoy! The competition has been fierce in recent tournaments and championship matches, but don't be discouraged if you did not come out on top; there are still many opportunities to showcase your competitive advantage in the coming months. We look forward to seeing you out on the course and courts as well as the in the dining room for our upcoming events such as Easter, the End of Season event, Memorial Day and more! Kick off the summer with your kids at the School's Out Pool Party and be sure to keep your children and grandchildren busy over the summer months by registering them for one of our many camps. We offer Golf, Tennis, Swim & Combo Camps to both Members and nonMembers. Pick up your camp brochure at the Club or download it off the website. We look forward to seeing the children enjoying themselves at the Club this summer! S AV E

and safest shots you can add to your game is putting from off the greens by using your hybrid from closely mowed areas. Using your simple putting stroke with this hybrid club will make it much easier and more consistent for you to putt around the greens. Keep your stroke balanced with the same amount of back swing as forward swing (pendulum stroke). With a bit of practice, your hybrids can become your favorite option when the shot dictates a low running type shot.

Lovin’Spring Tennis Lauderdale Challenge This was by far the most competitive and exciting challenge to date as CRCC hosted th e f i f t h a n n u a l Lauderdale Challenge. CRCC has won this event every year by a considerable margin however that was not the case this year. At one point Lauderdale Yacht Club was leading, but a big push at the end gave Coral Ridge the winning edge, netting a 10 – 6 advantage. Congratulations to the Coral Ridge Team who enabled us to keep the “cup” for 2014! Junior Division Players: Caroline Kotite, Mia Lear, Loretta Norton, Zaid Abuhamda, Bobby Genovese & Gabriel Joannou Women’s Division Players: Trudy Ropos, Dana Adler, Kathy Guerke, Maria Jose Higgins, Libby West, Marianne Weber & Debbie Johnson Men’s Division Players: Dion Joannou, Gilles Rais, Emad Abuhamda, Alan Hooper, Charlie Fox, Howard Bedick, Eric Rosenberg, Brian Catton, Bob Coppola, Wayne Grimm & Joe Piccirilli.

Women’s Valentine’s Day Round Robin Twenty-four of our ladies were dressed in pink and ready to play but mother- nature had other plans. An early morning rain caused the event to be cancelled.

Participants in the Lauderdale Challenge: Zaid Abuhamda, Bobby Genovese & Ryan Zimmerman

Each day will begin with a continental breakfast courtside and end with an awards ceremony and buffet lunch on the terrace. The white division (A3 & B1) will play on Thursday, April 3. The blue division (Open, A1 & A2) will play on Friday, April 4. Both divisions will be limited to the first 18 teams. Our theme this year will be, “The French Open comes to Coral Ridge Country Club”.

H O A G

Starting Monday, April 7 Three divisions will be offered this year to accommodate additional participants. Two divisions will be involved in a single elimination event and the third division will feature a one-day non-elimination round robin. Please register at the Tennis Pro Shop by Friday, April 4.

C LU B EV E N T R E S E RVAT I O N P O L I C Y Special club events, wine dinners, Saturday night seafood buffets and holiday dining are popular events that sell out and require the purchase of special food and beverage products, equipment, entertainment, etc. Last minute un-replaced cancellations (including changes to the party number) are unfair to those Members who are turned away due to full capacity and cause the Club to incur unnecessary expenses if the reservation is not replaced. As a result, the Club must exercise a firm enforcement of the special event and holiday dining policy. • At the time of making your reservation we will charge your account 100% of the event price. • Please let us know if you have other Members dining with you, so we may contact them. • You may cancel 7 days prior to event, without being charged. • If you cancel less than 7 days prior to the event, you will have to pay 100% of the event price. Note: Should there be a wait list and we are able to fill your reservation less than 6 days prior to the event, your account will be credited in full.
