Tennis Club Championships
Spotlight on “King B” Jack Holston Longtime Member Jack Holston, who refers to himself as “King B,” has been playing and competing at Coral Ridge Country Club since the early 1970’s. Jack has won more of our B division titles in both singles and doubles than any other Member to date. Most recently he won the 2011 Club Championships B Division Doubles event with partner Tom Gillon. Jack’s success can be attributed to his huge left handed forehand shots, his tricky slice serve and his devastating drop shot that is feared by all of his opponents. When Jask was asked why he never
Beginning the week of Monday, Jan. 16
moved up to the A division for some stronger competition he replied, “I would rather spin than win.” Congratulations Jack, you have been spinning and winning for years!
The annual tennis club championships are a great way to enjoy friendly competition without having to travel. Three divisions: Championship, A, and B, will be offered to both men and women in singles and doubles. This year there will be a mixed doubles event with consolation prizes offered. Please sign up at the Tennis Pro Shop by Wednesday, January 11. Please keep in mind that a minimum of 4 players/teams are required to hold a division.

R E S E RVAT I O N C A N C E L L AT I O N P O L I C Y Special event and holiday dining are popular events that sell out and require the purchase of special food and beverage products, equipment, entertainment, etc. Last minute un-replaced cancellations (including changes to the party number) are unfair to those Members who are turned away due to full capacity and cause the Club to incur unnecessary expenses if the reservation is not replaced. As a result, the Club must exercise a firm enforcement of the special event and holiday dining policy. Reservations for special events or holiday dining may be canceled with no penalty 72 hours or more prior to the event starttime. If the reservation is canceled anytime in the 72 hours before the event start-time, then 100 percent of the event price will be charged to the Member account. However, there will be no penalty if the canceled reservation is replaced by the Club from the wait list or otherwise, but the Club is not obligated to do so. Thank you for your understanding and compliance.
