Welcome to the Autumn Edition! There is nothing quite like the Autumn Vibe to get a sense of nostalgia started, it's something about the coming winter that has you reminiscing; as leaves colour then fall and the nights turn cooler. This built up excitement however, doesn't solely come from the change in seasons and it's hard to convey exactly what I am feeling as write this letter. Why so much excitement, you ask? Well, for those of you that have been following my journey from the beginning, you may have already realised that this publication marks a journey coming full circle. It was only a short twelve months ago that I published the very first edition of Becoming One which also happened to be an Autumn Issue! A whirlwind romance, would be the way I choose to describe my first year, it has been marked with learning curves, achievements, friendships and family support. Your supportive messages when late nights faded into dawn and the tiredness took hold was invaluable. I was constantly reminded why I love what I do when my inbox was full of such incredible work, to those people (you know who you are) I would like to say a heartfelt THANK YOU! So, it is with great pleasure that I am able publish this Autumn Edition, bringing you inspiring work from the best creative visionaries within the wedding industry, not just from here at home in Australia but from all corners of the globe and I hope you enjoy exploring the pages as much as I did curating it. lorelie

KEIRA MCCALL PHOTOGRAPHY TELL US ALL ABOUT YOU!: I own and run Keira McCall Photography, original, I know! right? I started in 2004 documenting my experience when I lived and travelled around the UK. When I started dating my muso husband, I began shooting his live gigs & after having our first child, I moved into capturing newborns & families, In 2013, I married my bestie and well I am sure you can guess what came next for me as a photographer. For our own wedding we made the mistake of choosing a photographer who wasn't in the industry and were left with no photos of us together with our then 2 year old daughter, which weighs on my mind that we missed these memories, It has been this experience that has fueled me to capture weddings and provide my couples with epic wedding photography and lasting memories! WHERE ARE YOU BASED & WHAT AREAS DOES YOUR BUSINESS SERVICE? I'm based in Brisbane but love travelling all over Australia for Weddings. This year I get to travel quite a bit which I am really looking forward to! WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE FOR YOU? My typical day has two school runs for Miss 8yo and then pretty much revolves around my little cyclone 4yo. We play barbies, lego, sylvanians, lots of drawing and craft. I work on my own craft (editing photos) at night past their bedtime. WHAT DO YOU WISH CLIENTS KNEW ABOUT YOUR JOB? 1). If I am just staring at you, don't be alarmed, I am just planning the next epic shot in my mind! 2). So much effort goes unseen behind the scenes, location scouting, prepping equipment and then I'm usually on my feet for 8-10 hours, so it's wonderful when clients make sure get a meal when they do at the venue. WHAT DOES THE REST OF 2019 HAVE IN STORE FOR YOU: Travel, lot's of time spent with my babes & capturing a rad bunch of weddings! FAVOURITE 2019 STYLE: Earthy, bold & dramatic looks. FAVOURITE INDUSTRY VENDORS: These are inspirational pro's, rad brands, businesses & great peeps: Neon Republic, Less Stuff - More Meaning, Handcrafted by Angeline, The Style Co. & Oli Sansom.

BLUE VALE FILMS TELL US ALL ABOUT YOU!: Hey I’m Ed from Blue Vale Films, a fun-loving, ocean-frothing Sunshine Coast Wedding Videographer. Growing up next to the sea I developed a passion for surfing, and through that, surf videography. I started documenting the characters and intricacies of the ocean from a young age and quickly fell in love with the process of capturing these unique moments. I have always had my eye set on living a creative life style and it wasn’t until I filmed my first wedding that I knew I had found my calling. I treat every wedding as a blank canvas with a unique story to tell & love how no two couples are alike. Just like the ocean has no control over the elements, so is my 'fly on the wall' approach to wedding cinematography, I aim to capture genuine moments with authentic emotions by only shooting using a handheld camera and letting my clients connect & concentrate on each other. WHERE ARE YOU BASED & WHAT AREAS DOES YOUR BUSINESS SERVICE? I am based in Maroochydore but work both on the Sunshine Coast & Brisbane, however travel is a passion & I am open to discussing opportunities.

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE FOR YOU? A typical day for me involves getting the sand between my toes & the salt water through my hair first thing in the morning, followed by getting in touch with all my couples to stay on top of all the wedding plans & while I have the creative juices flowing in the morning I jump into the editing process & craft out a visual representation of all the amazing love stories I have the privilege of telling. WHAT DOES THE REST OF 2019 HAVE IN STORE FOR YOU: Being relatively new to the area, I would like to meeting new people, organise some collaborations and capture more unique experiences and document some awesome love stories FAVOURITE 2019 STYLE: That’s a good one! I’ve seen a few favs so far this year already. As mentioned before I’m an ocean-lover so to see a rise in ecoconscious weddings is great to see, not a huge style guru but any style that incorporates nature in all it’s beautify is amazing to see. I have also enjoyed seeing traditional roles become more of a guide than a rule FAVOURITE INDUSTRY VENDORS: There are so many amazing creatives out there by some of my favourite are: Thomas Stewart, Olguin Photography, CloudHerd Film Co., Bottlebrush Films & Way Up High Films

VENDOR MEALS One of the most frequent questions we get asked is; "Do we need to feed wedding vendors attending our wedding?" So we thought we would share our answer with you and walk you through the etiquette. DO WE NEED TO FEED OUR WEDDING VENDORS? Yes!, without your vendors, your wedding day simply wouldn't happen, they're crucial to making your day a success and the last thing you need to be worrying about on your wedding day is a vendor that is low in energy from working a 10 hour shift without a break or a vendor missing an important moment because they are being forced to go out the back to get a snack. WHO DO YOU NEED TO FEED? All vendors that are an integral part of your wedding reception or that are by your side for long periods of time throughout the day. The key vendors are (but may not be limited to) your; Planner, Photographer, Videographer, DJ and Band & their staff or assistants.

WHEN SHOULD VENDORS EAT? OR TAKE BREAKS? Timing is everything & vendors ideally should be feed in two groups according to their job requirements, in order to keep your day running as smoothly as possible. Your DJ/Band should be fed before your guests are seated so they are ready to go soon as you announce the toasts & the music begins. Your Photographer, Videographer & Planner should be eating at the same time you are eating to ensure that nothing is happening while they are having their break. DISCUSS VENDOR MEALS WITH YOUR CATERER OR VENUE Most venues & caterers offer vendors meals at a discounted rate it & just like you set the menu for your guests it is extremely important to know exactly what your vendors will be served at your wedding & to ensure that all vendors dietary requirements are met. It is also a good idea to go over a seating plan not just for your guests but for your vendors as well to ensure they have a comfortable & safe place to enjoy their meal.

THE MODERN BOHEMIAN What more could we ask for in an editorial session? Filled with bold colour, one extremely dapper groom, epic floral installations and a venue filled with dappled light, this spectacular editorial session captured at the iconic Turnbull Building, by Jamie from Our Ampersand Photography is an editor’s dream come true. We are still drooling over the styling of this floral backdrop created by the lovely and extremely talented Sarah from Southerly Flower Farm that feature a wide array of dried and fresh florals that create an untamed textural crescent backdrop that seems to leap forward to embrace the teams bride and groom, Candace and Timothy and draw them closer. We particularly love the balance of dark russet tones with the soft peaches and pinks against the bold bright pops of tangerine and mustards. The modern bridal look that the team created for Candace is not only unconventionally different but a nod to the modern brides way of choosing clean lines and effortless style over a more traditional formal gown. Her hair and make up for both the ceremony and the after party were created by Gabriella Bordo and is a true testament of her incredible style. Timothy not to be outdone rocked not only killer moves but a stunning rust suit and matching fedora with an incredible knitted turtleneck sweater and delicate floral buttonhole.

BRITT & MATT Brittany tells us that Matt proposed to her on a magical picnic at Mount Cootha in what was meant to be a celebration date for Matt’s Birthday. Convincing Britt that a picnic was really what he wanted he teased her all morning by telling her that he had made up a new rhyme for her but refusing to tell her what it was. Arriving at the designated picnic spot they spread out their red tartan run overlooking the lily lagoon and watched the duck dip through the water and the water dragons as they chased each other and enjoyed their picnic, but Britt couldn’t help it she had to ask Matt about her new song. Matt caved and said he would tell her but he couldn’t do it unless she closed her eyes and of course being eager to hear it she played along listening as Matt recited his rhyme “I love my princess nay nay, my gorgeous queen Brittany, with all my soul I love her, she is the only one for me, I love my princess nay nay, my gorgeous queen Brittany, three years as a princess is long enough, it’s time to be a queen… Baby will you marry me?” Brittany was quick to say yes, and the couple eloped on a rainy Tuesday afternoon at Mount Cootha Botanical Gardens where Matt had proposed, with two of their closest friends as witnesses and a wonder team of supportive vendors on hand to help the day run smoothly and capture all the heart-warming moments as they unfolded. BLUE VELVET Inspiration for this editorial session captured by Jonathan Chau, were drawn from the luxurious textures of velvet and silk. The team chose a colour palette that was softly romantic, incorporating tones of grey and light blue with creams and touches of gold that highlighted the historic elegance of the teams chosen venue, Old Customs House in Fremantle. The tablescape featured grey and white ceramic plates with opulent gold cutlery and hand torn calligraphy menus, the romantic vibe was highlight further though layered feminine silk napkins and a one of kind hand dyed ombre velvet runner that lay over a calligraphy paper scroll that cascaded down the table. Waterford crystal glassware housed signature cocktails and hand painted cookies, mini donuts added a whimsical personal touch. A truly spectacular light blue French lace and tulle gown from Loui Col Designs had the teams bride looking like she had just stepped from the pages of a fairy-tale and this whimsical look was heightened through, a soft romantic up-do and subtle smoky eye created by the teams expert Hair and Makeup Artist, The Pretty Parlour. Wild unkempt garden inspired floral styling pulled the romantic whimsical look together crafted by Willow Lane Creative. The absolute highlight of this editorial for us however was the adorable addition of two gorgeous bunnies, Rocky and Pablo and has us dreaming of Easter Weddings and Easter egg hunts.

BOHEMIAN CHIC Bohemian Chic was created by a group of talented Newcastle creatives to welcome ‘Suzie’s’ to the industry. Suzie is the love child of Newcastle’s leading caravan bar hire business, and little sister to The Roaming Eagle. Nicknamed Boozy Suzie this spectacular caravan bar is the ultimate addition to any event with four beer taps and a tonne of optional inclusions and is a bohemian brides dream! She is big, peachy and we are in love! Captured by Wolf and Wildflower Photography this session was held at Stanley Park, a privately-owned waterfront estate located at Fullerton Cove. The Victorian homestead sits amongst twenty-eight acres of meticulously manicured lawns and features a giant fig tree that towers over the homestead. Across the lawn a rustic and spacious barn, offers spectacular water and sunset views that photographers dream about and is truly a perfect location for any celebration. The spectacular styling was a joint effort by stylists, Behind the Scenes Event Hire and master florists, 1969 Floristry, who worked together to create a wildly bohemian, yet romantic setting in shades of pink, blush and rusts, which became the perfect backdrop for the teams musician, Lo Monaco, to set the mood for the session. Bonnie was a vision in her custom When Freddie Met Lilly gown, with flawless makeup by Ivory State Hair and Makeup, and hair styling by, Rozlyn of BellaMia Hair. Samuel the teams dapper groom wore a suit in a stunning shade of baby blue with a darkly patterned navy tie and buttonhole of stunning pink blooms. BRITTNEY & MICHAEL Brittney tells us that their love story started with a classic case of miscommunication. The couple met briefly through mutual friends in the summer of 2014 and whilst Brittney had an immediate crush on Mike, he was thinking she was completely uninterested. As fate would have it they crossed paths again six months later at a wine fair, having made it very clear to her friends that she was excited to see Mike again, they put her name and contact info in his phone. They spent the rest of the evening chatting and she received a message before she had even got home. Their first date was later that same week and the rest is history. When it came to wedding planning the couple knew they didn’t want to spend any time on the details of a traditional wedding and wanted to focus instead on each other. Brittney tells us that a stunning location was the couples top priority and asked their photographers Sean and Jeremy of Sean McGrath Photography to suggest a few locations and when they saw pictures taken by them at The Caves, they immediately knew it was their spot. The couple were married in The Caves at low tide joined only by Sean and Jeremy their two photographers who also acted as their witnesses and the couples friend Jon who was their civil officiant. Brittney tells us that the couples favourite moment from the day was just after they had been announced husband and wife an were left alone in the cave where they laughed and kept saying “we’re married” to each other. The most exciting moment came that night when they posted a photo on their social media accounts and shocked everyone with their news.

ASHLEY & SAMUEL Ashley tells us that she met Sam through mutual friends that were dating and whilst those friends ended up parting ways Ashley and Sam are still together after 13 years. The proposal came as a complete surprise, telling us that she had no idea what Sam was planning. While the couple were in San Francisco in December, Sam took Ashley to the big Christmas tree in Union Square to "take pictures", arriving and taking some pictures Ashley turned around to find that Sam was down on one knee with a beautiful ring. Ashley’s favourite detail from the day was her bridal bouquet which had her late grandparents wedding rings wrapped around it and Sam’s cufflinks of a Labrador for our dog Charlie. The couple were married at The Florentine Gardens at the Hilton in Lake Las Vegas. They originally wanted a destination wedding, however changed their minds so their family and friends could celebrate with them. Ashley says, “ We picked Lake Las Vegas, which is only 30 minutes out of town because it was far enough way that it felt like a destination while being close enough for those important to us.” The couples advice to other planning their weddings is, “Enjoy the process, it may seem stressful, but it is all worth it when you look around on your big day and you’re having the time of your life with all of your friends and family.” Photography: The Light & The Love | Videography: Pure Light Creative Venue: Hilton Lake Las Vegas | Officiant: Peachy Keen Unions | Event Planning: I Do Details Weddings & Events | Floral Design: Layers of Lovely Chevron Backdrop: Starry Eyed Events | Rentals: Destination by Design Favors: Ella Celebration | Stationery: She Paperie | Cake: Freed’s Bakery DJ: DJ Harry O | Makeup Artist: B3 Makeup | Hair Styling: Cena Jordan Wedding Dress: Ines di Santo via The White Dress | Bridal Accessories: Renee Pawele | Bridesmaids’ Dresses: Show Me Your Mumu | Groom’s Attire: Hugo Boss | Groomsmen’s Attire: The Tie Bar

HONESTLY BOHO Carolina Country Weddings and Events, located within an hour of Charlotte in North Carolina is honestly a picture-perfect venue, featuring three hundred- and sixty-degree views of pristine open meadows and it’s very own secluded woodland clearing, which was the backdrop of choice for this delightful bohemian editorial. Drawing on the natural surrounding and enchanted atmosphere of the venue, the team used a palette of blush, peach, coral and rust to bring out the wildly romantic vibe that is so synonymous with the bohemian style. The effect is quite breathtaking, from the vintage and slightly eclectic feel of the mix matched dinnerware to the delicate yet bold bloom we are completely in love with the detailing in this editorial session. The teams stunning bride Jordynne was a vision in a long-sleeved modern lace gown by Meagan Kelly Designs that was perfectly complimented by a stunning tan fedora adored in stunning blooms. Her bridal look was completed with flawless make up by The Posh Palette and hair styling by Kristie Lavae. Seth, the teams groom was expertly styled in a floral print long sleeved dress shirt and tan suit pants and a timber neck tie and was every bit the dapper bohemian gent, be sure to check out the credits below and follow the team for some seriously delightful inspiration.

PRETTY IN PINK This editorial elopement session, captured by our featured artist, Keira of Keira McCall Photography, and filmed by Tanya of White Lace Films, was the result of a concept collaboration between Belinda of Husk and Vine and Lorelie of Studio B. Couture. Speaking with Lorelie she tells us that “ At my very first planning meeting with Belinda I remember her looking over my initial concept for the rusted out truck that involved dried palm fronds and full blushing pink roses, pausing and looking up at me with the most serious expression I have ever seen and saying, “can we not use anything alive, so no flowers?” A passionate floral lover by nature, it took me awhile to wrap my head around the idea but I trusted in Belinda’s botanical vision and jumped straight into reworking the concept and style of the shoot with a renewed purpose to prove to myself and others who would be just as apprehensive as myself, that trusting your creative vendors and creating a wedding from discarded, foraged and repurposed items could be just as stunningly romantic as any other session I had styled before.” Not wanting to lose the romance that she had originally envisaged Lorelie set about adding the softness and whimsy through the bridal styling obtaining stunning one of a kind gowns from When Freddie Met Lilly and combining them with botanical necklaces created by Belinda and a stunning array of jewellery from Bree at Little White Couture. Jessica and Alexia’s looks were completed with flawless hair and makeup by the very talented team at Bella Brides. ALEX & AJ Nine years ago, on a fateful afternoon at the Fox Hotel in Brisbane, Alex walked up to AJ and complimented him on his Ben Sherman shirt. In response, AJ made a terrible dad joke and the spark was instantaneous! They spent the rest of the night chatting and laughing, and now you could say, the rest is history. Alex tells us that she had no idea AJ was going to propose, he took her on an afternoon picnic at Wellington Point, one of Alex’s favourite spots, the day before they were flying to Japan. AJ said to her, “I have a present for you”, pretended to get a present but gave her the finger instead, after a lot of hilarious loving banter, we stopped laughing, and he said that he did have a present. In a heartbeat, he had gotten out the box and opened it to show me the ring. Everything was a big, beautiful and emotional blur. I don't even remember what he said, but I was crying and swearing because I thought it was still a joke before he asked, "Is it a yes". I yelled "YES", and we hugged, and I cried some more. The couple were officially married in a ceremony at O’Reilly’s Vineyard, followed by this second intimate wedding celebrating AJ’s Greek heritage at The Dormition of Our Lady, Mt. Gravatt. The couple got ready together at Alex’s family home and drove together to the church, after the ceremony they headed into fortitude valley for some stunning portraits capture by their close friend and photographer Steph of The Soul Echo and then headed back Alex’s family home to celebrate with their nearest and dearest.

CHERRYLYN & CLEMENT Cherrylyn and Clement bet at UC Santa Cruz back in 2009 where they both joined the same co-ed fraternity. Their first significant interaction was playing UFC on the Xbox. Clement tells us, “ I was already pretty good at the game, which was unfortunate for Cherry as she hates losing, long story short she got demolished but not before putting up a loud, silly and enthusiastic fight that definitely left a lasting impression. Later that summer we also happened to rent out the same house, on the day I moved in, we found ourselves staying up all night talking about games, bad jokes, aspirations and life. It didn’t take long, about two weeks to be exact, for us to realise that this was something very special.” The couple had been looking at rings together for almost a year so Clement knew that it was going to be hard to try and surprise Cherry. He decided to secretly curate videos of their past nine years together and surprise her with the movie he made at a private screening in a little boutique theatre. On their ninth anniversary he took her out for dinner to a fancy restaurant and when the dinner was over they got into a Lyft that instead of taking them home took them to the theatre where Cherry got to view the movie. Clement tells us that it turned out perfectly that he had only used footage from his personal phone, as “she got to see and understand how I see her through my eyes.” When the movie was over, Clement got down on one knee and proposed with a temporary ring as there had been a few hiccups with the real ring and a fake ring was made as a stand in, which the couple tell us turned out perfectly as they were able to travel freely without worrying about loosing or having the ring stolen. The couple are both excited to dive into their wedding planning and tell us they have been having a ball planning this wedding in truly ‘Clemerry’ way. Congratulations guys, we cannot wait to see the photos of your special day. Photographer: Preserve Studio | Location: Sand Harbor Beach, Lake Tahoe

DESERT BOEHME This stunning editorial session captured by one of our favourite photographers Nic of Hilary Cam Photography has it all; the creative best of Sydney’s wedding industry, the sinking sun over an expanse of breathtaking sand dunes and the dreamiest bohemian details you have ever seen! The teams stylist and extraordinary floral designer, Visually Creative, utilised a colour palette of warm blondes, delicate blush and rich creamy beige’s to highlight the raw natural beauty of the surrounding sand dunes, rich textural rugs from Props 2 You and a mixture of luxurious cushions from Sea Tribe were paired together to decorate the billowing tents from Breathe Bell Tents while lavish platters had us dreaming of Bedouin celebrations and warm desert breezes. One of our favourite details, however, was the unexpected details of the cake, created by one of Sydney’s leading cake artists, Priya of Sugar Pot. Standing tall on the low line feasting table, this stunning cake was adorned with a hand-crafted dream catcher made by Priya completely out of fondant and highlighted with ombre grey to brown sugar crystals that tied into the teams colour palette perfectly. The Brides were exquisite desert princesses, with stunning flowing bohemian dresses by the talented label Lenka Couture, their looks were complete with flawless hair and makeup by White Hair & Makeup and dreamy accessories provided by Cynthier. THE EAST Inspired by Chinese and Asian traditions, this shoot takes the traditional Chinese tea ceremony and reimagines it in a spectacular editorial session, captured by one of our favourite Sydney based photographers, Daniel of Angus Porter by DKC. The creative talent behind the concept, Lilac of Upside Down Events, tells us “At a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, no one is truly comfortable. There is a lot of confusion, a fair bit of rushing around and very easily, frustration creeps in – even the couple themselves are rarely relaxed. The tea ceremony takes place at a familiar place – often at the parent’s home. But this also means cluttered surrounds, claustrophobic spaces, and a setting that fuels anxiety. The couple wears things they have never worn before. They’re being directed to perform customary rites that they themselves do not understand. All this is done in front of people who are watching and correcting them.” Lilac explains, “what should be an emotional rite of passage ends up being a chaotic experience for everyone involved. Instead of joy, relief that it is over becomes the lingering taste. And this is where the concept of ‘The East’ came from; observing Chinese/Asian cultural traditions on the wedding day and wanting to make them more enjoyable, and meaningful, for marrying couples. I wanted to explore the possibility of making traditional special and appreciated, not for the sake of adhering to how things should be but rather, to show that heritage matters – but with a certain contemporary flare.” We absolutely love what the team has captured and the meaning it portrays and know you will love it just as much as we did. SUNSET ROMANCE This styled editorial session from a team of South East Queensland vendors and captured by Tahlia of Wylde Folk Studio, was based on a desire to create an elegant, dreamy and romantic atmosphere whilst embracing last of the summer sunshine at the picturesque landscape at Sirromet Winery. Choosing a colour palette of soft blush, peach and white tones with pops of rich burnt orange the teams stylist, Ruby Bleu & Co Events, styled the session using vintage furniture from Bonnie Blue to create a fairy-tale like picnic set up amongst the long grass, complete with a gorgeous cake by Fig and Coconut and peacock chair that was reminiscent of a dreamy throne. Malindri of Peridot Pretty, was inspired by images of an old English Garden and added an Australiana twist as a tribute to the sun kissed land and bright blue sky. Malindri also created a bespoke, bejewelled buttonhole that was the perfect complement to the suit which Chris, the teams dapper groom wore that was provided by Black Jacket Suiting. Megan, the teams bride was a vision in a custom Jordanna Regan Couture original and took our breaths away when we saw the images of the breeze ruffling through the layers of delicate tulle in the lusciously full skirt. Completing the bridal look was a flawless hair and makeup by Jade Russell Makeup Artist, and raw crystal earrings provided by Bree from Little White Couture that added the perfect bohemian touch to this elegantly inspired look.

LOUISE & BRANDAN Louise tells us that, “I met Brandan through a Facebook group for singles in the country and we had our first date at the pub quickly followed by our second date where he cooked for me and made delicious lamb shanks, needless to say I was hooked!” When it came time for the proposal, Brandan with the help from Louise’s bestie, Nat, planned out a beautiful romantic date for the coming weekend, the couple were going to ride their horses, Hooters and Frosty up the back paddock for a picnic and Nat was going to hide in the bushes to capture the moment, however, Louise tells us that Brandan got too excited and couldn't wait till the weekend. The couple were having leftovers for dinner and Brandan went to get some hot chips, on the way home he put the ring in the chips. Arriving home Brandan asked Louise to serve up the chips and there it was just sitting on top of the chips; a complete and total surprise and Louise says it was so sweet discovering that he was just too excited to wait! They were married in stunning country inspired wedding at the Jondaryan Woolshed and tell us that their favourite moment was when they said I Do, tying the knot. Louise’s favourite details were being able to share getting ready with her brides tribe and getting the stunning photographs of their day back from their outstanding photographer Rachel of Rach Martin Photography. The couples advice to others planning is, “Don't get worked up over little things. It is what it is, you just need to enjoy every step of your planning process, because the whole experience comes and goes so quickly. On the day try to relax and don't forget to soak in every moment! We did and had the best day of our lives! The only stress we had was having to quickly decide on an alternative ceremony location, but it all worked out perfectly.” Photography: Rach Martin Photography| Venue: The Woolshed | Floral Design: The Enchanted Florist | Cake Artist: Lee’s Cakes

MOONRISE KINGDOM Nancy and Eddie of Early Night wanted to create an editorial bridal session that drew its inspiration right from the reel of Moonrise Kingdom in true Wes Anderson style. They envisaged a dreamy whimsical landscape reminiscent of the movies location, with props as close to the original movie as possible. Working with Kathryn of Restoration Floral Co, the team brought this exquisite concept to life with a true fifties vibe resonating throughout the session from the cane picnic hamper to the record player and retro yellow suitcase, vibrant yellow tent and daisy crown reminiscent of the daisies that the characters wore in their hair. Bailey the teams lovely model donned a two-piece lace ensemble from designer Mia Riley Designs, and layered it with a delicate romantic tulle robe. The robe heightened the elegant, romantic and whimsical element of the shoot bring in stunning bell sleeves and a short chapel length train. Bailey’s bridal look was completed with hair and makeup by Sara from Arete Beute, who mimicked the movies lead female. Suzy’s look, with eyecatching blue eye shadow and flowing hair. In true Wes Anderson style the teams groom, wore a black corduroy suit jacket with a delicate buttonhole that matched the bridal bouquet. We fell so in love with this inspiring shoot that we just had to see the movie and thoroughly loved being able to draw comparison from the characters in the movie with the love story told in this talented teams editorial session.

CALLIE & JJ Callie and JJ met in Brisbane eight years ago at the Normanby Hotel on a Sunday afternoon, Callie had just attended a football game at Suncorp stadium with friends and JJ was there with friends having a few recovery drinks after a local jazz festival. The two groups started chatting and they ended up going into the city to watch the All Ireland Football finals together, at the end of the evening Callie and JJ exchanged numbers and the rest as they say is history. JJ proposed six and a half years later, throwing a party at his workshop to celebrate the arrival of a new panel saw, named Stella, as a ruse to gather Callie and their family and friends together for the surprise proposal he was planning. Callie tells us that she was completely surprised, “I didn’t believe him at first, but he had also invited my family, so that was when it started to sink in, although I do remember my poor Grandma was very confused as to why she was attending a party for a saw.” The couple were married at Ewingsdale Hall and let the raw natural beauty of the venue dictate the style of their wedding and brought in bright pops of native flowers and raw materials to enhance the beauty of their surroundings. Callie’s favourite detail from their wedding was the arbour and aisle that her amazing mother decorated, the morning of the wedding. The couples advice to others planning their wedding is to, “Enjoy the journey, and remember it is ultimately about celebrating love with your special someone. It’s easy to get caught up in the smaller details, so take a step back and a breather if it’s all becoming too much.” Photography: Van Middleton Photography | Venue: Ewingsdale Hall Priest: Father Alexander Munyao | Floral Design: Budding Genius Flowers Cake Artist: Eat Sweet Handmade Cakes | Hair Stylist: Headroom Hair Makeup Artist: Harpier | Bridal Couture: Grace Loves Grace | Catering: Olive & Luca

JENNIFER & NICK Jennifer tells us that she had known for a while that Nick was thinking of proposing after dropping repeated hints that it was time as she had been growing impatient with his vague riddles as to how and when it might eventually occur. Unbeknown to Jen, Nick had been in communication with one of her favourite illustrators and commissioned a story book with illustrations of Jen wearing one of her many animal themed hats, to hide the ring in. However, after visiting a local jewellery shop, Jen’s questions about the nature of the ring prompted Nick to abandon his book in progress and propose there and then. He sat her down on the edge of their bed, covered her eyes, and asked her to marry him. The shop they had visited earlier that day went on to make their wedding rings. When it came to plan their wedding, the couple knew that they wanted a celebration that reflected both their personalities, and because they admit that they are both a little mad, they decided they wanted to throw together a quirky and casual wedding while still being beautiful and creatively expressive. The couples advice for those planning their weddings, is to “Choose your vendors based on who you feel you can connect with, our day ended up reflecting who we feel we are and what we love because we chose vendors whose work we already loved. When you love their work its best to just let go of the reigns and trust them to create the magic for you.”

Bledi, who moved to the United States from Eastern Europe in 1999, had recently graduated from Coastal Carolina University while Kaitlin was prepping for her freshman year at the University of South Carolina. The couple shared several months of late nights and shared slices of pecan pie after work, when a work opportunity moved Bledi to Washington DC. The couple kept in touch despite the long distance and frequently used FaceTime for several hours a day. After four long years of being apart the couple took up residence in the same zip code when Kaitlin received a job offer in Charleston, SC. They purchased their first home together in 2017, in Mt Pleasant, SC where they now reside with there cat and dog, Rex and Sullivan. Kaitlin tells us that Bledi proposed in Asheville, North Carolina in May of 2018. He arranged it so that both of their families were watching from the bushes just out of Kaitlin’s line of sight. She says that she was so excited she thinks she blacked out during part of it but, distinctly remembers Bledi including a bit about legitimizing our "fur children" which made her laugh hysterically and of course her answer was a resounding "FINALLY!". The couple are excited to be able to start planning their wedding and are really looking forward to being able to celebrate with their friends and family and are looking forward to the new season in their relationship.

JODI & ZACH Jodi and Zach met at a shop in downtown Fargo, in snowy North Dakota, they chatted about travel, food and of course photography. They became friends, shared stories, ate burgers. Jodi says they drove a lot, took photos, ate ice cream and read good books and shared a lot of wine. Sharing their lives together, they became more than friends, learnt new things and found a deeper rhythm of love and life. They moved in together and added to their family with a dog and travelled to foreign countries to explore and take photos. Then on a trip to the Scottish Highlands Zach proposed to Jodi with a ring he had hidden in their bags and of course she said yes! The couple chose to return to the highlands to get married as they felt the pull to the wildness that can only be found in the highlands and exchanged vows on a hill wearing hats and reciting their vows in the same place where they were engaged. On returning home, they contacted photographer Traci Edwards who captured their stunning elopement session when they travelled to Arizona and ventured into the Slot Canyon. This stunning session needs to be seen to be believed and we just know you will love it as much as we did!

ALLY & DAN Ally and Dan chose a Vintage Vegas Glam theme for their wedding that was brought to life with the help of Symphony Weddings & Events and celebrated their wedding at the Neon Museum surrounded with the history of “Old Vegas" and surrounded by old neon signs from around Fremont Street and Downtown. Their colour palette was White, Gold, Champagne and Burgundy. Ally tells us “It was very important to us to focus on the vintage neon signs. With a venue like The Neon Museum, you are literally surrounded by and immersed in Vegas history. Our new last name is Bowman, so naturally we utilized the vintage "B" neon sign as our ceremony backdrop. During cocktail hour, our guests were taken in groups on a tour through the actual boneyard with tour guides educating them on where the signs were from.” Ally a graphic designer, designed all the escort cards, the table name signs, and the various wedding signage around the venue and rented white vintage doors attached to a brown arch to hold the escort cards. Ally chose a stunning vintage inspired champagne gown that fit the theme and the girls wore glittering gowns that highlighted the Vegas Glamour part of their theme to utter perfection and we completely love the resulting images captured by Photography by V

We have tried to eliminate the stress by coming up with a guide to help you navigate your way through the initial stress that can come with planning your honeymoon. DETERMINE YOUR BUDGET Once you've come up with an overall number of what you can afford to spend, you can start breaking that down into daily expenses. This is helpful for narrowing down your options when you get to the point of booking flights and hotels. It's important to be realistic and also include meal estimates, baggage fees, taxis, an occasional splurge on a night out, and any other predictable expenses. RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH You may want to consider hiring a travel agent if the idea of planning one more thing has your eye starting to twitch, otherwise check out online travel blogs or online magazines and your local airline packages. To

get you started we have compiled a list of the top nine Instagram couples to follow to get the inspiration flowing. DISCOVER YOUR HOLIDAY STYLE Figure out what shared experiences you're both enthusiastic about and start ranking the ideas on a bucket list of sorts. Pick your top experiences and look for destinations that will allow you to tick these off your bucket list. Remember Rome wasn't built in a day and any experiences you don't get to do, keep the bucket list for your next vacation! BE REALISTIC ABOUT TRAVEL DATES & TIME OF YEAR If you are travelling outside of your own country make sure you have done your research and know what season you are travelling into, peak times not only make some destinations crowed but increase the price drastically. TRAVEL LAG IS A REAL THING Fatigue is a real thing! Make sure you are careful not to pack too many destinations into your itinerary, as that can quickly lead to both of you feeling burnt out rather than calm and relaxed. Spending at least four days between days of travel is usually a good rule of thumb.

DUBROVNIK

HOME TO THE LEGENDARY KINGS LANDING, THIS GAME OF THRONES FILM LOCATION MAY NOT BE THE FIRST THING THAT COMES TO MIND WHEN YOU THINK 'HONEYMOON', BUT WE EXPLORE THIS DESTINATION AND SHOW YOU JUST HOW ROMANTICÂ IT CAN BE.

HONEYMOON FEATURE

EXPLORING OLD TOWN DUBROVNIK, CROATIA Known as the Pearl of the Adriatic, Dubrovnik lies in the extreme south of Croatia, basking in glorious Mediterranean sunshine for much of the year. A fairytale fortress of beautiful Baroque, Gothic and Renaissance churches, aristocratic palaces, red-roofed townhouses, magnificent monasteries, fascinating history and the location of choice for the Red Keep and King's Landing in the hit HBO Drama series: Game of Thrones. This captivating Croatian city makes it is almost impossible not to fall in love and feel anything but uplifted and inspired in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Wander the bustling boutiques, markets and bars, savour freshlycaught seafood while gazing out to sea at sunset; walk along the iconic walls, or take a cable car up to Mount Srđ for the most spectacular views in all of Dubrovnik. Today a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Old Town and its towering walls rise above a 13th-century main street that literally sparkles in the sun. No wonder so many consider Dubrovnik a precious gem. In fact, the origins of the Croatian language and its classic literature can be traced back here, and the city remains an epicentre of culture, art, music and science. All this, and surrounded by a brilliant-blue seascape, pretty beaches and idyllic islands... what more could you ask for? That's right we promised you a Game of Thrones adventure, as all of you GOT fans will know Dubrovnik was the main filming location for King's Landing and George R. R. Martin himself wouldn't have been able to dream up a more picture perfect location

if he had tried. This medieval town with its historic walls, towers and fortresses was the perfect backdrop for the seven noble families to battle for control of Westeros. First stop on our tour is Lovrijenac Fortress, otherwise known as the scene of the Red Keep. The bay outside its walls was also used as the setting for the Battle at Blackwater where Stannis Baratheon attempted to take King's Landing. Next we visit Parke Gradac, set on approximately 17,000m2 the spectacular park will awaken the nobleman (or woman) in you. Hidden behind the red roof tops of Dubrovniks stone houses this idyllic location was the setting of the Purple Wedding between Margaery Tyrell and King Joffrey Baratheon. Continuing the journey we travel to the Island of Lokrum, with no cars permitted on the island, you will need to be prepared to walk. While the island is small (roughly 2.5km long) the terrain is uneven but with

with the opportunity to float in the Island's dead sea, visit the Benedictine Ruins, Hike to Fort Royal and feel like Medieval Royalty amongst the Peacocks in the stunning Botanical Gardens we think the trip will be well worth your while. Not to mention it being the setting for the GOT City of Quarth. The last stop on the tour is Trsteno Arboretum, located 18km outside Dubrovnik . This leafy botanical garden was once the summer residence of a Dubrovnik Noble Family before being shot to fame in Seasons 3 & 4 of GOT as the coast gardens of King's Landing where Tyrion and Varis plan their schemes and deceptions. Not up to doing a self guided tour? not a problem, Discovering Kings Landing is easy with the Tour Package available at Dubrovnik's Hotel Bellevue that includes; Luxury Accommodation, Daily Breakfast, a replica 'Key to the City' and a Private Guided Tour and if GOT isn't your style read on to discover other Luxury Accommodation Options
