Broken Pretzel The goal of this project was to design a shopping mall kiosk for Auntie Anne's Pretzels. Some challenges of this design were thinking about the limited space given, considering trafďŹ c ow of customers, and properly displaying the preparation of the pretzels.

My design concept, consisted of breaking down the pretzel shape itself and reconstructing it together again, to make the display eye catching and interesting, while also making it functional for customers and workers. The shapes and forms are welcoming and allow for easy production and management. There is continuous ow around the kiosk and people can easily grab bite to go, or have something to eat there.

cheerful path I have given a chance to choose and area within my university campus to make it function better or simply construct a platform for new idea, so it will help people have better experience. I choose the front entrance of the school, I think it is important to make a grand statement and spark inspiration when entering the campus gates.

The existing path had direct sunlight and no shade, making it hot and exhausting to walk through. It was also next to busy streets with polluted air and no greenery. In addition, there was no place to sit and wait for the bus or socialize with friends. I solved these problems by thinking about the human ow and using new elements in my design such as, Vertical and horizontal wood panels to control the glare from sun. And those slightly open to provide ventilation and an enclosed wooden path. The greenery and grass roof tops also provide shade and cools down the environment in hot tropic weather. There is also a sitting area next to a glass roof that contains water, so that when the light shines on it a reective pattern is created on the concrete. I think my design connects to the idea that the university is made up of diverse people and different ideas, but still works as one structure.

Artist Studio My assignment was to create an artist's studio and include spaces for the artist to display his work, as well as serving functional living space. My artist is a painter who paints abstract forms of Muslim women. The inside consists of a private living space, a semi-private work space and a public gallery. The entrance is in the middle of the space which contains the artist's work space, connecting to a private quarters through a hidden door on the left, and an interactive public gallery and garden on the right. These areas are all connected and ow through, but also give the artist privacy and inspiration.

Plan Progress

The building that houses the studio is an enclosed space with little strips of windows as openings, representing the Muslim woman's face and eyes, which are also peeking through her clothes.

I was inspired by the idea of an oyster and how that connects with the Muslim woman -- the oyster shell represents the outer covering or hijab, and the inner beauty, or pearl, is the woman.

HOOK Kiosk I was tasked to design a modern version of a food kiosk in a high volume and messy street. My kiosk sold fish and my inspiration came from the hook that is used to catch them. The location had a lot of traffic flow and human circulation, and was not hygienic.

Configuration of Choosen Site

I wanted to hook the customers with compact, multi-functional space, using folding doors and chairs, saving time.

Traffic Flow

The layout is fast for customers, there are no long waits and is easy for the workers to manage the opening and closing process hassles free. Everything should be washable and made easy to clean, thus i use materical such as steel and glass, for getting fresh air the site location and air vantilation helps to ows up the smell of ďŹ sh.

Living Room Twist My assignment was to redesign and solve the issues of a space around us. I chose my friends apartment -an area that needs to function for a young couple who spend most of their time in the living room with friends. There are no large windows, the kitchen has a small entrance, there is an extra bathroom and also a need for an office in the space. The living room was made larger by removing the dining room, Combining those together, Creating an open concept living room and kitchen and also adding space for an office. The balcony was added as an extention of living room, giving the oportunity to use the exterior and making an alternative way to circulate from office to living room.

Space Organisation

My new plan applied strong linearity to the space with clean and sharp lines, large windows so you can look outside and enjoy the interior as well as exterior, The parallel lines avoid negative space and also limit visual access to the bedrooms, making them more private. DeďŹ ning Parti

Boutique Hotel Lobby

This lobby space was designed for rock climbers and adventurers hikers. The hotel is in a bustling city setting and has a huge stone entrance to attract people walking by, and represent the hotel as cave. There are large panels of artwork on the walls representing different parts of climbing trails from around the world. s.
