Treaty Shopping Centre and Hounslow Multi-Cultural Centre Food collection brings festive cheer A month-long food collection for the Hounslow Multi-Cultural Centre (HMCC) has resulted in an “amazing” amount of goods donated. Before Christmas Chamber Patron, the Treaty Shopping Centre encouraged people to bring along cans of food and dried goods such as sugar, tea, coffee and hot chocolate to assist HMCC, which serves the multi-ethnic
community in the London Borough of Hounslow. Supported by local religious and voluntary groups and individuals and as a response to the need to help people and communities to integrate into the broader population of Hounslow, HMCC has been working as a medium between the statutory services and the voluntary sector, serving communities living in the London Borough of Hounslow since 1981. The purpose of the centre is to act as a focal point for activities that combat exclusion and provide
basic advice, assistance, sustenance, friendship and opportunity to individuals so they can express the joy of their own cultures and religions. For more than 32 years, HMCC has been used regularly by thousands of people from various communities and is widely viewed as one of the most successful projects in the London Borough of Hounslow.
