Plane Saver’s Mental Health Seminar a great success

Amid nationwide cost of living concerns, West London Chambers and their sponsor Plane Saver cohosted a Workplace Mental Health seminar at Brentford Football Club earlier this year. Multiple speakers equipped employers with the tools and contacts to support their people during this difficult time.

Sally Smith, COO of West London Chambers and chair of the event, stated, “Mental health is a crucial topic. Poor mental health can significantly impact an employee’s wellbeing, making them less likely to be productive both inside and outside of work. Providing support within the workplace, where many of us spend much of our time, is key.

“It was fantastic that Plane Saver was able to sponsor the event. We had some great speakers, including Plane Saver’s own Sarah

Davidson, who spoke on financial wellbeing. She was joined by the amazing Elise Brown, the CEO of Mama Haven who addressed combating in-work poverty, Sanjay Vadhera, who discussed the impact of caring for someone with dementia, and Jakub Kotan on strategies to improve mental health in the workplace. This is the second year we have held such an event, and it was very well received by employers and local businesses. It sparked a lively discussion and prompted numerous shared experiences.”

Rachel Downing, Head of Business Development at Plane Saver, remarked, “We know how essential it is to encourage people to open up and talk honestly about their finances. That’s why we were delighted to sponsor the event. According to the Money and Pensions Service, money is a daily worry for 9 million adults, and supporting workers through life’s ups and downs is a major part of what we do here at Plane Saver.

“Our research has found that workplaces that protect the financial wellbeing of their employees will have a happier and healthier workforce. It was gratifying to be in a room with business owners who recognize their responsibility in supporting the workforce in reducing financial stress.”
