Top awards for Blacon Adventure Playground

At Avenue Services, we deliver a wide range of services and facilities for people in Blacon.

One of our community assets we’re proudest of is Blacon Adventure Playground, which has welcomed generations of Blacon residents through its doors for more than 50 years.

We’re delighted that the benefit the playground delivers for the community in Blacon has been recognised with two prestigious awards.

The first of these saw the playground and our hard-working staff and volunteers presented with a BBC Merseyside ‘Make a Difference’ Award.

These awards aim to say thank you to the people and organisations who love to make life better for others.

The playground, known locally as ‘The Venny’, was named the winner in the ‘Green’ category, with judges highlighting its community impact and hands-on educational work.

The Venny was then recognised again at the recent Dee 106.3 Local Heroes Awards, where it was named Business of The Year.

As well as indoor and outdoor play facilities, the playground also offers a city farm where families can interact with a range of animals.

The site is also home to a state-of-theart community gym run by Rage Fitness & Wellbeing Group, which delivers wellbeing services across Cheshire and beyond.

Rage is also celebrating after picking up three trophies, including UK’s Best Health & Wellbeing Provider, at the 2024 Best of British Fitness & Wellbeing Awards.
