YOUNG CHAMBER Bryn Tirion Hall School Students enjoy an insight into the working world with guided tour from Young Chamber sponsor Altimex Ltd

During the visit, Davinder introduced the students to the diverse range of career opportunities available within the company and provided insight into the many departments that contribute to its success. The students also witnessed cutting-edge equipment in action, observing the intricate production process of crafting bespoke circuit boards. This hands-on experience offered students a valuable glimpse into the world of advanced technology and the exciting possibilities within the industry.

Sarah Humphreys – Assistant Head for CWRE, Bryn Tirion Hall School, commented: “As part of our school's Career and Work Related Experiences programme, our Autumn term ‘Meet the Professional’ session involved an inspiring site visit for upper school pupils to local award-winning Manufacturer, Altimex. Pupils were able to tour the site whilst our host, founder and owner, Davinder, explained to them the importance and responsibilities of each department, hearing from employees along the way about their job requirements, day-to-day duties, and the pathway they followed into their current career. The visit ended in the Boardroom, where Davinder spoke about his own journey and encouraged pupils to work hard, follow their dreams and seek out opportunities.

Students from Bryn Tirion Hall School recently enjoyed an inspiring opportunity to learn about the inner workings of a successful business. The students were given an exclusive tour of Altimex Ltd's state-of-the-art facility at Thornton Science Park, led by Managing Director Davinder Lotay.

Young Chamber sponsors support Steps to Success event at Queen’s Park High School

Sponsors of the Young Chamber programme recently provided invaluable advice and support to Year 11 and Year 13 students at Queen’s Park High School as they prepare for the next stage of their education and consider future opportunities.

At the Careers Fair, each sponsor hosted a stall, offering students the chance to gather valuable insights and ask thoughtful questions about various industries. Topics included skills requirements, career prospects, further education, and apprenticeship opportunities.

This event, made possible by the Young Chamber programme, marked another milestone in its mission to equip students for life beyond school. Through initiatives like mock interview days, CV workshops, careers talks, and enterprise projects, the programme continues to grow, benefiting more students with the support of its sponsors.

Andrea Watts, Careers Lead at Queen’s Park High, commented: “Making decisions about post-16 options and pathways can feel overwhelming, but our students are making confident and informed choices about their futures. As part of our whole-school careers programme and commitment to CEIAG, Year 11 and Year 13 students, along with their parents, participated in the Steps to Success event. “The event featured a careers marketplace, offering information, advice, and guidance on post-16 and post-18 options, including apprenticeships and further or higher education. With support from the Young Chamber programme, we welcomed exhibitors such as Cheshire College, the NHS, Oliver & Co Solicitors, opportunities as possible to make the transition into working life as seamless and as meaningful as possible.
