Students at Hawarden High School gain crucial experience from Young Chamber Sponsors during mock interview day

The Young Chamber programme recently supported students at Hawarden High School by organising a mock interview day to help them complete the career planning unit of their Prince’s Trust qualification.

On the day, the students took part in a mock interview tailored to a sector that they have been researching as part of their career planning unit, these included Motor Mechanics, Painting and Decorating, and Hair and Beauty. The students participated in 30-minute interviews with Young Chamber Sponsors, this allowed time for the students to receive individual feedback and ask any further questions.

Jenny Davidson, Events & Young Chamber Manager at WCNW Chamber, said: "This is one of the first mock interview days we have helped to organize at Hawarden High, and it has been a fantastic opportunity for the students to develop their employability skills in a real-world context, and gain an insight into a topic that they’re passionate about" The event marked another success for the Young Chamber programme, which continues to grow and support students in preparing for life beyond education. Through events such as mock interview days, CV workshops, careers talks, and enterprise projects, the programme is helping to equip young people with the skills they need to thrive in the workplace.
