On 1st April 2014, three solutions to the traffic congestion around the primary school were identified. Unfortunately, to date, Suffolk County Council have not delivered any. These options were considered at the meeting, and SCC officers assured Cllr Sonia Barker that the three costed solutions would be brought forward to another meeting when members of the public would be consulted before work commenced. Cllr Barker said: ''Despite chasing SCC on this, I've heard very little from them. On

19th September I finally received a letter, however, it lacked any information about how we're going to move forward. It's simply not good enough. People are fed up with the situation at the school, and want action now. I yet again urge SCC to wake up and act. I won't give up on this.'' Once the three costed proposals are brought forward by SCC, Cllr Barker will engage stakeholders, enabling everyone to understand how we will move forward on this important issue.

Cllr Barker has asked for safety signs warning drivers as they approach Grove Primary School. Safety improvements to the Bloodmoor roundabout were agreed in January. Nothing has materialised. Cllr Barker is chasing SCC. Beccles Free School has now moved to Beccles. The old site is now boarded up. Cllrs Barker and Byatt used their locality budget to fund grit bins in Carlton Colville, new guttering and fascias for Carlton Colville Community Centre, and new tents for 2nd Carlton Colville Scout Group.

Campaign against the mental health cuts led by Bob Blizzard

It was good news to hear that the campaign fought against Carlton Court closure had some impact in getting the Laurel Ward for acute elderly patients (10 beds) re-opened. However, the loss of the acute adult wards (14 beds) is deeply disappointing. Bob Blizzard said “When I became MP in 1997 there were no in-patient facilities

in Lowestoft. I fought successfully for the new Carlton Court wards. Now we are back to where we were for acute adults.
