Hospital Post Mortems

In certain circumstances the hospital doctor may ask that a post mortem examination be carried out. This will be done if the doctor feels it may help them understand how the patient died and may also help in future treatment of patients with a similar illness.

These differ from post mortems requested by the Coroner.
