President’s Letter As we put winter behind us and get ready for early spring, I hope that each of you can find the time to volunteer some time for the Friends of the Berkeley County Library System. We can use your talents, whatever they may be. Please consider being part of the team. Before we know it, Summer Reading will be here and this is the premiere program the Friends sponsor and fund for the BCLS. This program is so vital to the children in Berkeley County and is always very enjoyable. The adults are not left out, by any means…there is also a summer reading program geared toward them. Many prizes are available for anyone participating and best of all, everyone gets to read! We will be hosting fund-raisers to fund this and other programs in your libraries. If you can help in any way, please get in touch with a member of the FOL. We will also be holding membership drives in different areas of the county. If you are not a member, we need you and would love to have you join; either at one of the membership events or you can pick up an envelope at the Friends’ bookshelves in each branch and use it to mail your membership. Membership dues are only $10.00 -individual; $20.00-family—these are annual dues and are tax deductible. I cordially invite each of you to become a member of the Friends. I encourage you to buy books from the Friends’ shelves…..bargain prices, variety, changing inventory…..what’s not to like?? Please see the Friends of the Berkeley County Library FB page to see dates for any of our events. Our next meeting will be on February 26 at 6:00 PM at the St Stephen Library. All members are invited and you are welcome to join at the door. Sue Kelley, President of Friends of the Library
