Large Jan. Marek Marci 1595 - 1667

Large Jan. Marek Marci was a physician, philosopher and physicist, first from Czech. He was a contemporary of Galileo and lived in Prague during the Thirty Years' War turbulence.Marek Marci Jean was born in the small town of Lanskroun in Eastern Bohemia ; studied at the Jesuit academies and become professor of medicine at the University of Prague. The views and his medical methods were very modern, recommend a healthy lifestyle, with many activities in the fresh air and delicious foods with a high content. He especially liked the good red wine. He met William Harvejin during his visit to Prague is one of the first to recognize the detection of Harvey on blood circulation. In 1639 Marcin published his book "De proportione motus" where, for the first time, analyzes hitting of elastic bodies. It underlines in particular the case of collision of the two spheres of the same elastic, one of which is located in the calm before the collision. After the collision they exchange velocities, the area's first and second stops all movement takes. Marcin examined the possibility of banning the guns doing bombshell hit the same areas that are at rest. This method of stopping the ball bombshell was not used ever, but today' s reactors used a similar method, where neutrons are slowed down by being hit with light nuclei bottlenecks.

He lived in Prague.

Another area of scientific interest was Marcin optics. He was the first who discovered the diffraction of light; coloring generations studied at the sharp blade of a knife or small holes made in a letter. In his book "Thaumantias" describes features and Bulava rainbow colored soap. Some years before Newton discovers that white light through a glass prism, can be broken down into separate colors and that these spectral components do not change if the light becomes more pass through a second prism. He studied hitting between elastic bodies. In 1662 Marcin elected rector of the University of Prague and become quite famous throughout Europe. Royal Society of London offers him to become a member, but that the notice arrived to Marcin, he lived not more. Today Marcin is considered one of the founders of Spectroscopic. A small crater on the back side of the moon bears his name
