This past April, a diverse group of equine enthusiasts gathered at Varian Arabians in Arroyo Grande, California for some serious fun. The event, “The Varian Hands-On Clinic, featured guest speakers, expert horsemen and women: Lester Buckley, Brett and Marjie Becker, Jaime Hernandez, and Mike Perez who assisted the participants in taking their horse skills to new levels. This was truly a hands-on experience with many people bringing their own personal horses to the event so they had a chance to work with them and be guided in new techniques by the coaches. Many others attend the event to listen, watch, and learn. It was a shared experience with everyone helping and encouraging one another. The first day consisted of ground work and day two covered riding skills. In the end, there was a sense of pride and accomplishment among the participants. Yet, everyone was reminded, our relationship with our horse is a work in progress and every day presents a new opportunity to learn and grow. In addition to the educational time, guests had the opportunity to explore Varian Arabians’ Hall of Fame, visit the Stallion Barn, and enjoy presentations of stallions and sale horses. It was a weekend of abundance and fun: great horses, great people, and a really great time. Enjoy some of the weekend highlights... If you are looking for a fun weekend getaway this summer, consider coming to the Varian Way Weekend scheduled for August 4-5, 2018. Visit the website for details: www.varianarabians.com
