An Inspector Calls Student Leaders become Student Inspectors A group of our student leaders and staff have received expert training from an ex-Ofsted inspector. Students and staff explored what makes excellent learning and how to identity it in the classroom. Groups will be observing lessons at teachers’ invitation as a practise run in the next few weeks. Our Learning & Teaching student leaders will then collate evidence of the brilliant learning at BGTC and identify how we can make further developments.
What’s the story? KS3 Reading Journals It’s really great to see so many enriching projects going on at BGTC that supports literacy, reading, writing and storytelling. For example, every student in Year 7, 8 and 9 should now have a reading journal. In the coming weeks we will showcase some snippets from their journals, see what books are proving popular and what you have to say about them. If storytelling rather than story reading is more your thing, then why not check out the Ministry of Stories. It’s a new charity, just up the road, designed to support your creative writing. So, whether it’s stories, poems or even lyrics, head down to a workshop any Thursday after school or Saturday morning.
