Word on the Street The Newsletter of Bethnal Green Academy and Sixth Form
Cultural Marathon On the Friday 25th of September the BGA Cultural Marathon took place. The Cultural Marathon featured 8 hours of non-stop staff and student participation in a variety of creative activities. These ranged from Painting Kandinsky, Vocal singing with year 7, Shakespeare and a rehearsed reading of Dr Faustus. The Day came to an end with Origami and the Art of Jazz. A great way to end a hugely successful and fun-filled day of culture.

Languages Week The week commencing the 21st of September played host to the BGA languages week. A celebration of the diversity of languages here at BGA. During the week there were international-themed school dinners, language masterclasses and language themed assemblies. The week came to a climax with a staff fancy dress with staff dressing up as the country of their choice.

Macmillan Coffee Morning
Art Trips
On the 25th of September BGA hosted an Macmillan Coffee Morning event. Parents, Carers and staff were invited to donate money to a great cause in return for some delicious coffee and cake served by BGA students. The morning was hugley successful raising a fantastic total of ÂŁ422 for the MacMillan Cancer Fund.
In September BGA students took part in 2 Art Trips. On Saturday the 26th of September Sixth form students visited the seaside town of Margate. They spent their time drawing landscapes and visiting the Turner Gallery. Also on Friday the 2nd of October year 10 Art students visited the Victoria and Albert Museum and spent the day exploring different cultures and drawing from observation.
