Don't DIS MY ABILITY

BGA Art students recieve University offers Our Year 13 art students have been busy getting their portfolios ready for University interviews. Here’s what they had to say about the process: Theodore Barbey I have done a lot of travelling around the country for university interviews which has meant that I have discovered new places such as Leeds and Cornwall. I have had three interviews so far, all leading to offers for degree courses in Photography (BA Hons) at University of Falmouth, University of Westminster and University of Lancashire. Cesar Britez I am lucky to have received two offers so far to study Graphic Design at University of East London and University of Westminster. I had to carry a huge, heavy portfolio but the good news was that they really admired my work and told me to thank my art teachers. I have more interviews coming up. Monika I have been offered places at Ravensbourne University to study BA Architecture and University of Westminster to study Interior Architecture. I applied to universities around London as some of the best Architects firms are located here. I’m very happy as the competition is very high.

Year 7 Year 7 have had an unbelievable season which started by travelling away to beat Slough and Eton School 3-2 in the ESFA National Cup. More good results saw the team march into the 4th round with 2 more hard-fought away (both in South London!) wins before finally being knocked out. It was a slower start in the league as we lost our first 2 games before beating Burlington Danes 6-2 to get our first win. Since then we have had some fantastic results as we dragged ourselves to 3rd in the league. Highlights include a 10-1 thrashing of Hackney New School, a big 8-2 win against Cardinal Pole, a memorable 5-1 win over City Academy and a 5-3 win this weekend against Skinners academy. One of the leagues top goal scorers has been our very own Yusuf Hoque. Brady McGraughan is the captain and has had a fantastic season, scoring a hat-trick against Cardinal Pole. Denzil Morrison has had the most man of the match awards but it has been a real team effort and I've been hugely impressed with the professionalism, skill development and togetherness of the team. Well done everyone!

Year 9 Year 9 have had a great season so far, as defending champions it is very close at the top with BGA currently 3rd on 24 points. The boys started off slowly with 2 defeats coming in the Schools Cup and the first game of the season against Stoke Newington. Since then the boys have gone on to play some memorable games, most recently the 8-0 hammering of Hackney New School and the resilience shown in this weekend's 2-1 comeback against Skinners Academy. Captain Shane Mahbeer has been a fantastic leader to the team, Marley has been on form and is the top goalscorer with 10 goals. The boys have shown determination, resilience and focus and have built a very solid foundation for years to come. Like us on Facebook, Follow us on Twitter
