BEYOND THE PAGES GODS.
In January, I journeyed to London for London Collections: Men AW1 5 to view the newest collections from the world’s most established and emerging menswear designers in sensational formats, both on and off the catwalk. There, we experienced a world of heroic, dramatic and determined designs in everything from the traditional pocket square of Savile Row to the unconventional plastic bags and androgynous peplums of Christopher Shannon. One thing was certainly clear, the LC:M broadcasts were correct, London really is the home of menswear and this home lives and breathes power and prestige. From two words came the confidence to create an issue focused on authority, supremacy, influence and divine revelation. First up, MA MAN 1 5. The LC:M schedule opener, showcasing the freshest talent from the London College of Fashion and its Menswear Graduates, exploring themes of galactic tribalism, majestic futuristic tailoring and enchanting and inspired, couture design. Moving from London to Israel, menswear designer Eliran Nargassi and fashion photographer Guy Nahum Levy present a monochrome explosion of lights, camera, fashion via the God-like face of male model Kryshtal Stas in KING AEETES. I WANNA DESTORY PASSERS-BY, delves into the captivating ideas of revolution as rock photography legend Peter Gravelle and Angie Carr present their youthful anarchist t-shirt designs in exciting artistic prints with an emphasis on attitude and all things superior. THEY SHALL INHERIT THE EARTH, touches on the life of privilege, access and unlimited trust funds fronted by Elite Model Connor Schelling-Tisza and then there’s our closing covershoot entitled GODS.
