Types Of Whales There are many different types of whales in the world. There are more than 80 types of whales. Some of the most popular types of whales are dolphins/porpoises, blue whales, and killer whales. Most people know whales for jumping out of the water and being at Sea World and doing tricks. But there is much more about them than doing flips and tricks.

Dolphins And Porpoises Dolphins and porpoises are very common in all the world’s oceans except for the cold polar seas. When dolphins leap in the air while they are swimming it is called porpoising, but most porpoises don’t do it

Killer Whale An adult male killer whale can be 30 feet long and weigh 11 tons and most of it is muscle. The killer whale is just a name for it real name, Orca.Orcas are the fastest mammal in the sea, sprinting at up to 34 miles per hour. The hunter eats anything from small fish to great whales 10x its size. Females can live up to 90 years old.
