The peasants revolt
Kings Of The Middle Ages
The image below is a painting of the peasants revolt which took place in 1381 all across England. The reason they revolted is because the king had to much power

were loosing power. What could they do? Why not take it from the church. Emperor Henry IV decided to replace Pope Gregory VII. When the other kings heard of this they decided to do it to. Soon kings had so much power, they could do what ever they wanted. The peasants became angry and revolted. Soon King John of England was forced to either lose all his power, or limit it. He chose to limit it, and signed a document called the Magna Carta. It is what inspired americans to revolt and become a free country. [3]
