Lastly, I encourage you all to join Key Club again for the upcoming school year and to encourage your friends as well! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask any cabinet members or our faculty advisor!

AWESOME 80’S RUN On the early Sunday morning of June 23rd, 2019, Bellflower Key Club attended the Awesome 80’s Run. At this event, our members assisted with filling up and handing out water cups, cheering on the participants, taking down and loading equipment, and taking filled trash bags to the dumpsters on site. It was a thoroughly enjoyable event for our members since it also gave them the opportunity to interact with our local community and with Key Clubbers from other divisions!
ST. LUCY’S 75TH ANNIVERSARY On Saturday, June 29th, Bellflower Key Club assisted St. Lucy’s Church as it celebrated its 75th anniversary! During this event, our members were first given basic training, and were then tasked with serving the delicious multicultural food at various food stations during the feast. Our members were also able to provide further assistance by helping clean the food stations after the conclusion of the celebration and by throwing away the filled trash bags. Bellflower Key Clubbers were delighted to have had the opportunity to help St. Lucy’s Church celebrate its anniversary and were grateful for the accommodating church members who organized the event!
GRANT ELEMENTARY TREE PLANTING Our club participated in another one of Long Beach’s tree plantings. Through the 3 hours of vigorous work, we were able to become closer with members from the other schools in the division, as well as Circle K members! For many of us who haven’t planted trees before, it was quite an experience. Overall, as a community, we were able to help contribute to grow 10,000 trees by 2022! It was a very entertaining day, so we hope you guys can come next time!

BEACH CLEANUPS MUD MANIA On Sunday, July 14th, Bellfower Key Club volunteered at the annual Mud Mania event in Long Beach. During this event, Key Clubbers from different divisions helped kids learn about the rich history of Rancho Los Cerritos and volunteer at different mud-related stations. This included making real adobe bricks, constructing adobe home, creating mud slime, playing in a mud put, and many more! All these activities were held to celebreate adobe, the primary material used to make houses in Rancho Los Cerritos during the 1800s. All in all, Key Clubbers had a lot of fun volunteering at this event and plan to help out next year as well!
Cleaning up the beach was a simple but fun event to do. To be able to enjoy the scenery with friends that came out to help clean our community, with just gloves and a garbage bag, was the best part of it all. From picking trash that has been thrown on our environment knowing it will help the ecosystems around thrive can give you a sense of accomplishment.
BELLFLOWER KIWANIS FIREWORKS STAND We teamed up with Bellflower Kiwanis and sold fireworks for Independence Day to support the clubs sponsored by Bellflower Kiwanis. For those who weren’t 18, the age to sell fireworks, assisted those who were handling the money and exchange of the fireworks. Overall, the experience to meet people interested in buying and the excited Kiwanians made this event seemed fired up!
