JUNE 2020 ISSUE
WHAT’S UP ALL YOU GORGEOUS NINJASSSSSS!! It’s Coral once again, serving as your historian! I have a quick message before you continue the newsletter! First off, I want to say that I hope each and every one of you are staying safe. These times may be scary, but they are very much necessary in order for change to happen within our nation. That being said, I hope you guys are eating, staying educated (even with school ending hehe), and most importantly are completing task that will make you happy. Mental health is a very real and vital thing to take care of. If you’re ever feeling lower than the day before, please let someone… your life matters just as much as the next person. Our KC Board is also more than willing to listen to you guys, since we all still can’t be with each other physically. I love you all, and I hope you enjoy this month’s Newsletter! Kickin’ for Service,
Bellflower Key Club Historian

HIYA NINJAS!!! We’re finally in the month of June, and school is finally out! Congratulations to the class of 2020 for graduating! You guys have persevered so much. I also want to congratulate everyone for completing your AP Exams!!! Please remember that an AP exam does not define your intelligence. While school has ended, we’ve only barely entered the term! We’ve completed our first two months of the term and I am so proud of us as a club! While our events have had to be hosted virtually and at home, you all have not failed to participate in service projects and serve our community! We received Club of the Month at May DCM! Please continue to serve our community within your homes! Our division and several of our clubs have been planning service projects so please take advantage of them! We have so many ideas coming on the way so please do your best and participate regardless of the quarantine! Kickin’ for Service,
Bellflower Key Club President

Within the month of May Bellflower Key Club created many service events in order for our members to still be active! Events such as Mother’s Day Card Making, Veteran Card Day Making, Kiss a Senior Goodbye, and many more! We also held our monthly meeting and participated in Division wide events such as service week, D13S Movie Night, and May DCM. School is out for the summer, and though restrictions are easing up, we will continue to create service events that keep our members safe and active!

The Elemonate Challenge is something that our Division participates in every year, it’s to bring awareness to Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus. Many of our key clubbers participated in the challenge and the week long service event that came along with it! Hopefully you guys enjoyed the services and you were able to learn something as well! Here is some from our board eating a lemon for the cause!

In the month of May, we annually celebrate Mother’s Day! But‌ what better way to show appreciation towards your mom than to create a card making service event? Though this member went above and painted their mother something, we did have members create cards for their mom or mother figure. Thank you to everyone who participated!

From May 11th- 15th, our division hosted a week long service event, every day having a certain service you complete! The days were as follows: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

Our annual Bellflower Key Club Blood Drive hosted back in March was a success!! We wanted to repay our donors by creating a service event in which we recognize their deed! Donating blood is a very noble thing because it’s a necessity for many hospitals all over the country! Thank you to everyone who participated in this service event, and thank you again to our 2020 donors!! 10
A few members also attended May DCM held on May 16th via Zoom. It was Animal Crossing theme and everyone had an amazing time. We also won Club Of The Month, and that wouldn’t have happened without our STUNNING Board and MAGNIFICENT members!! Thank you guys!

The Class of 2020 unfortunately had an unfair send off, so our club created an event to shout out the seniors and how much we love and appreciate them! Members sent in a video of them talking about one senior and how much they are going to miss them‌. Here is our President Daniel Le for example!
