AUGUST 2020 ISSUE

Hey Bellflower Key Club… HOW DO YOU FEEL ?!?! It’s Coral back here with another message! I first wanted to say THANK YOUUUU for all the service you guys have completed during this oddball of a quarantine summer! Even through dark times our club has produced many amazing outcomes, so our board encourages you to keep participating as much as possible! We also want to thank you guys for attending social events such as July DCM and the Team Yellow Scavenger Hunt… stay active in those as well! Not only will August have some A-MAZEEEEE-INGGG events… but schools back again!! Okay… that’s not really an exciting thing, especially because we’re going online, but your board is here for you and we are still going to make it the best school year possible! Stay safe and enjoy the magazine!! Kickin’ for Service,

I hope you all are doing well! I hope you guys have been finding ways to keep yourself busy this summer! I have been keeping myself busy with summer school and doing some personal service at home through things such as Charity Miles and Free Rice! To the Seniors, now is a great time to start getting ready for college applications to save stress during the school year. Thank you everyone for coming to Officer Training Conference! I hope you were able to learn a lot through the various workshops (especially the historian/editors one hehe). School is starting very soon for many of us, so make sure to start planning out the beginning of the school year and recruiting new members! Covid-19 hasn’t disappeared yet so please keep social distancing and stay safe! I hope you enjoy reading this issue of the Ninja TImes brought to you by our Historian Coral! Kickin’ for Service,

Bellflower Key Club President

From the 1st of July to the 4th, Bellflower Key Club was allowed to participate in the annual Bellflower Kiwanis Firework Stand!! Members had an amazing time, alongside Gahr and Mayfair High School! Keyclubbers were able to organize goods, complete inventory, and even shares a few laughs by making Tik Toks! We hope there will be more in person service events soon, but for now, we’re so happy everyone enjoyed a fun and safe outing!

Starting in July, Division 13 South wanted to spice up service by partnering up schools to have service projects! We were teamed up with Cabrillo, Sato, and St. Anthony, in which we had the Butterfly Effect Service Project! All of our members had an entire week to send in their origami butterflies, in which our members made A LOT and for A GREAT CAUSE! Thank you to everyone who participated! 9

The month of July was fantastic for Bellflower Key Club because we hosted our VERY 1st SERVICE WEEK of the Term! The BEE Clean Service Week was centered around keeping our community as clean as possible! This included Cleanup Monday, Recycle Tuesday, Upcycle Wednesday, Fitness Thursday, and Graphics Friday! We hope our members enjoyed and BEE on the lookout for more service weeks! 1010

July 25th was Lilo and Stitch themed DCM, and it was definitely groovy! Not only did we have a fun time playing Pictionary, but Bellflower Key Club’s very own Ally Macedo and Jazz Nario were recognized as Member of the Month, and DLT Member of the Month! Let’s Go Bellflower KC BUCSSSS!!

July 27th is National Love is Kind Day: a day to recognize survivors of domestic abuse, highlighting their new freedom from their former abuser. Our members were able to create graphics with more information on how everyone can participate! Thank you to those who designed graphics! 12
