EVENT EVENT RECAP RECAP FALL RALLY SPIRIT SESSIONS At the Fall Rally Spirit Sessions, everyone in our division learned cheers, dance moves, and even stomping routines as we prepared for FRS. Each spirit session, we split the room into two teams so they could spirit battle each other. This was a fun learning experience as we were able to get the hang of new cheers while battling our friends. Our ninjas were so full of energy and it paid off at Fall Rally because WE WON THAT SPIRIT STICK!

FALL RALLY SOUTH 2018 Bellflower Key Club attended Fall Rally South 2018 with a great amount of spirit. Prior to the event, we reserved a day for teaching our members the chants and let them make posters. We had many first time attendees who have given such positive feedback thus far. With the amount of energy we brought, we were able to help our division win the spirit stick. As vice president, I can say that I am very proud of my fellow ninjas. Go Ninjas!

EVENT EVENT

SANDRA JOHNSON MEMORIAL TREE PLANTING On November 17, several Bellflower Key Clubbers attended the Sandra Johnson Memorial Tree Planting service event, where they helped plant trees in a Long Beach neighborhood near Hudson Park in honor of the late Sandra Johnson. Like last month’s Otis Reid Memorial Tree Planting, this tree planting was also a part of Long Beach’s “I Dig Long Beach- 6,000 Trees by 2020” project.

THANKSGIVING FOOD BASKET PROJECT Hey Ninjas! For this month, one of the events that our members decided to participate in was the Thanksgiving Food Basket Project, which took place on Monday, November 19th from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Kiwanis Hall over Thanksgiving Break. At this event, members from our club were more than happy to first sort out canned food items into piles, and then later, organize into food baskets. The nice thing about this event is that these food baskets were given to families within the city who were in need. Each family received a basket that consisted of a variety of canned food items, a turkey, and a bag of bread. Because of our hard work, we were able to provide multiple families with a Thanksgiving dinner. Happy holidays!

BELLFLOWER HIGH SCHOOL FOOD DRIVE From November 26 to December 4, Bellflower Key Club participated in Bellflower High School’s annual food drive. Members brought cans and goods to donate to families in need of food during the holiday season.

RECAP RECAP CHRISTMAS GIFT WRAPPING EVENT On November 24, our Bellflower Key Clubbers volunteered at Bellflower Kiwanis Hall for the Christmas Gift Wrapping Event. At this event, our senior Key Club members happily took on the task of wrapping presents for the upcoming Special Olympics Christmas Party, as well as shopping for the gifts themselves. This event not only presented our Key Clubbers the opportunity to help out their local community, but also provided them the chance to collaborate with Key Clubbers from other schools who were also present at this event. Through this event, our Key Club members were also able to contribute to creating and maintaining the holiday spirit of giving.

NOVEMBER DCM At November DCM, members of 13 South brought food to celebrate their win at Fall Rally. Before the feast, we made cards for our Thanksgiving food drive, wishing them a great year and good health. These cards were to be placed in each food box for families in our community. Making these cards reminded us to be grateful for our blessings. After that, we ate while watching Fall Rally videos made by various members. Events like these bring us closer to each other as we make memories this term. All in all, we had a fun evening!
