EVENT EVENT RECAP RECAP SPECIAL OLYMPICS CHRISTMAS PARTY Bellflower Key Clubbers attended the Special Olympics Christmas Party on December 1. At this event, our members were designated various tasks to complete, such as setting up the tables, collecting the food brought by the guests, serving the food, and assisting with the clean-up after the party concluded. Additionally, some Key Clubbers also helped distribute the presents some of us helped wrapped in a previous event to the party guests. Furthermore, our members were also able to join the festivities when the dance floor was opened and everyone was invited to dance.
BELLFLOWER KIWANIS GIFTS AND FOOD BASKET On December 21, 6 of our Key Club members volunteered at the Bellflower Kiwanis Gifts and Food Basket Project, where they helped arrange the canned goods into food baskets and organize the presents. In addition to that, our members also assisted the families by helping them carry the food baskets and presents to their vehicles. Moreover, some of our Key Clubbers also helped watch over the children while their parents discreetly selected their presents in another room. This event was certainly an enjoyable and memorable one since our members were able to see how they could positively impact our local community here in Bellflower through their volunteer work.

On December 27th, Bellflower Key Club along with different schools in our division went to help decorate the Rose Floats. When we got to the event we were given wristbands and t shirts, then went straight to work!! Some of us started off by already climbing ladders, painting, and/or cutting flowers. Jobs tended to shift so later in the day, after lunch, most of us Key Clubbers were given these big decorative roses, in which we were suppose to sprinkle and spread this coating made out of fake flowers. This event was very fun and a new, interesting experience for a lot of us!!
I attended the CTC (Candidate Training Conference) for Lt. Governor for the region on December 8th. When I attended CTC, I was informed about the position of Lt. Governor. As a Lt. Governor I learned that being in that position you must serve as a liaison between district and club. During the event, I went through a series of breakout sessions and in these breakout sessions, we talked to one of the many Lt. Governors. In the breakout session we asked the Governors a series of questions about their experiences and any other questions we had. Near the end of the conference, we had practice caucus questions; open forum was shortly after the caucus questions. After the event I realized how amazing the position is. And after the end of the event it opened multiple doors and opportunities that I didn’t know that I had. I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to go to this event and learn more about this position.
