A Bienal Internacional de Arte Contemporânea de Curitiba entra em sua 14ª edição colocando o tema fronteiras em discussão. Sob o conceito curatorial “Fronteiras em Aberto”, assinado por Adolfo Montejo Navas e Tereza de Arruda, propõe diálogos sobre a nova situação de refronteiras e desfronteiras do mundo contemporâneo a partir da desconstrução das noções de fronteiras físicas e das relações sujeito-espaço, à procura de novas cartografias simbólicas. Esta edição homenageia especialmente os países do grupo BRICS: Brasil, Rússia, Índia, China e África do Sul, apresentando obras de artistas contemporâneos originários destes países em mostras inéditas no Brasil. Em um percurso pelo Museu Oscar Niemeyer, a maior sede do evento, o público confere o trabalho de artistas dos cinco continentes, ampliando o diálogo e os olhares sobre a arte contemporânea.

SALA 1 – BRICS
SALA 4 – ENTREMUNDOS
A sala 1 abriga duas exposições em homenagem aos países integrantes dos BRICS. A primeira, de curadoria da sul-africana Ernestine White-Mifetu, traz uma mostra coletiva de artistas sul-africanos, que estabelecem um diálogo entre o passado de seu país de origem e a construção de novas narrativas que trata de realidades (trans)nacionais e globais. A segunda exposição tem como curadora Tereza de Arruda com obras de artistas brasileiros e indianos, propondo uma reflexão sobre questões sócio-culturais e identificação.
A exposição “Entremundos”, de curadoria de Adolfo Montejo Navas, propõe uma reflexão sobre a transversalidade presente entre o sujeito, a arte e a sociedade contemporânea. Os artistas brasileiros que fazem parte da mostra traçam um retrato desse pluralismo fronteiriço de sujeito-espaço-temporalidade.
SALA 2 – BRICS Seguindo as homenagens ao grupo BRICS, a sala exibe obras de artistas contemporâneos brasileiros, russos e chineses. Sob curadoria de Adolfo Montejo, ganha destaque Cildo Meirelles, um dos maiores artistas contemporâneos brasileiros. Os curadores Tereza de Arruda, Esenijia Bannan e Lu Zhengyuan trazem artistas que, de um lado ressaltam a diversidade
SALA 9 – MAC NO MON A Bienal ocupa também a Sala 9, onde temporariamente funciona o Museu de Arte Contemporânea do Paraná (MAC-PR). Nessa sala estarão expostas obras de artistas chineses e sul-africanos sob curadoria de Massimo Scaringella e Ernestine White-Mifetu. Na Sala 9, a Bienal apresenta também projetos de arquitetura contemporânea sob curadoria do suíço Daniel Faust, no âmbito do Circuito de Arquitetura da Bienal.

SALA 11 A curadora argentina Gabriela Urtiaga apresenta uma mostra coletiva de mulheres artistas argentinas, sob discussões estéticas e etimológicas no que tange a relação entre feminismo(s) e arte contemporânea. A sala também conta com a curadoria de Massimo Scaringella, apresentando ao público trabalhos de artistas de diversos países que dialogam sobre a questão de geografias e dualidades entre realidade e fantasia.
O Olho apresenta o tema geral da 14ª Bienal de Curitiba: Fronteiras em Aberto. Sob a curadoria de Adolfo Montejo Navas, os visitantes poderão conhecer trabalho de artistas como Antoni Muntadas (ES), Arthur Omar (BR), Daniel Canogar (ES) e Juan Luis Moraza (ES). E sob curadoria de Tereza de Arruda, verão trabalhos de artistas do coletivo FABRIK e representantes da arte contemporânea brasileira e europeia. ESPAÇO EXTERNO Na parte externa do MON, será possível visitar as obras de Alex Caminiti (IT), Jairo Valdati (IT) e Marcos Amaro (BR) com curadoria de Massimo Scaringella, além da artista Ana Vitória Mussi (BR), sob curadoria de Adolfo Montejo Navas.
TORRE E ESPAÇO ARAUCÁRIA Na Torre, em direção ao Olho do MON, o público poderá conferir trabalhos dos artistas Eduardo Scala (ES), Joan Brossa (ES) e Nicanor Parra (CL). No Espaço Araucária, será exibido o trabalho de Eduardo Kac (BR).

ENGLISH VERSION
The Curitiba International Biennial of Contemporary Art puts the theme borders under discussion in this 14th edition. The curatorial concept “Open Borders”, signed by Adolfo Montejo Navas and Tereza de Arruda, proposes dialogues about the new situation of reborders and unborders of the contemporary world starting of the deconstruction of the notion of material borders and the relations subject-space, searching new symbolic cartography. This edition makes homage specially to the countries that are members of the BRICS: Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, presenting works from contemporary artists that are originally from these countries in unprecedented exhibits in Brazil. Walking through the Oscar Niemeyer’s Museum, the biggest space where the event takes place, the audience checks artworks from artists from all five continents, expanding the dialogue and views about contemporary art. ROOM 1 - BRICS The 1st room hosts two exhibitions that make homage to the countries that are members of the BRICS. The first, curated by South-African Ernestine White-Mifetu, is a collective exhibit of
South Africans artists that creates a dialogue between the past of their origin country and the construction of new narratives about (trans) nationals and global realities. The second exhibition is curated by Tereza de Arruda with works of Brazilian and Indians artists, proposing a reflection on social-cultural and identity issues. ROOM 2 - BRICS Following the homage to the BRICS, this room exhibit works from Brazilian, Russian and Chineses contemporary artists. Under curatorship of Adolfo Montejo, one of the biggest contemporary artist Cildo Meirelles stands out. The curators Tereza de Arruda, Esenijia Bannan and Lu Zhengyuan bring artists that emphasize the creative diversity of the Russian contemporary art as well as the fluidity of the relation between the individual and nature with the chinese works. ROOM 4 - BETWEENWORLDS The “Entremundos” exhibition, curated by Adolfo Montejo Navas, proposes a reflection on the transversality present between the subject, the art and the contemporary society. The Brazilian artists that make part of the exhibition trace a portrait of this borderly pluralism of subject-space-temporality. ROOM 09 – MAC AT MON The Biennal occupy the Room 9 as well, where the Paraná Museum of Contemporary Art is currently working. In the 9 th Room of MON-MAC it will be exposed works from Chinese and SouthAfrican artists under curatorship of Massimo Scaringella and Ernestine White-Mifetu. In this room the Biennal presents as well contemporary architecture projects under curatorship of the Swiss Daniel Faust, making part of the Architecture Circuit of the Biennal.

EYE – OPEN BORDERS
The argentinian curator Gabriel Urtiaga presents a collective exhibition of argentinian women artists, creating aesthetic and etymological discussions where the relationship between feminism(s) and contemporary art meet. This room is curated by Massimo Scaringella as well, showing to the public works from different countries that dialogue with the geography matter and the duality between reality and fantasy.
The Eye is where the main theme of The Curitiba International Biennial of Contemporary Art will take place. Under curatorship of Adolfo Montejo Navas, the visitors will see works of Brazillian artists such as Antoni Muntadas (ES), Arthur Omar (BR), Daniel Canogar (ES) and Juan Luis Moraza (ES). And under Tereza de Arruda’s curatorship, they will check works from the collective FABRIK as well as representatives of the Brazillian and European contemporary art.

OUTER SPACE
In the Tower, on the way to the MON’s Eye, the public will see artworks from artists like Eduardo Scala (ES), Joan Brossa (ES) and Nicanor Parra (CL). In the Araucária Space Eduardo Kac’s (BR) work will be shown.
At the MON’s external space, there will be exposed artworks from Alex Caminiti (IT), Jairo Valdati (IT) and Marcos Amaro (BR), curated by Massimo Scaringella, as well as works by the artist Ana Vitória Mussi (BR), curated by Adolfo Montejo Navas.
