CHRISTMAS BASKETS BASE Place foam circle on top of the corresponded base piece and quilt as desired. Cut fabric piece to the shape of the foam circle. Repeat it for the fusible circle and second base piece. Place circles on top of each other and fuse them together with an iron. With right sides together stitch bias strip along the edge of the base. Fold over the ends and trim excess length. Turn binding over, fold in seam allowance and top stitch close to the folded edge.

Fold 21/2” x 5” binding strip in half lengthwise, wrong sides together. With raw edges matching stitch binding strip to the trimmed edges. Fold it over and fold in the seam allowance on both ends to cover the seam. Top stitch close to the folded edge. Align bottom edge of the quilted side piece with the base and hand stitch them together overlapping edges of side strip. Stitch buttons in place and make a few small stitches to secure all layers together at the top of the basket. * NOTE: Pictures shown are for illustration purpose only. SIDE Lay batting strip on top of fabric strip. Fold outside edges to the middle and fold in half. Clip or pin together. Take it to the sewing machine and start stitching close to the edge. Set you sewing machine to Zig Zag stitch - widest setting. Join strips together with zig zag making sure that folded edge of the strip is at the top of the basket edge. Trim edges straight.
