DECO DANCE TILE is ideal for some basic quilting with DMC Cotton Perle. Cut Bosal Light Fusible Batting to the size of the DECO DANCE TILE. Iron batting and cushion top together. Quilt cushion top as desired. We did stems of the flowers in Running stitch with DMC cotton perle 993, centers of the flowers with Straight stitch using magenta 34 cotton perle, centers of the daisies in yellow 676 with Straight stitch and some parallel lines with pink 605. DECO DANCE TILE CUSHION BACKING Turn one long edge of each backing pieces 18 ½ x 15½” rectangle under ¼” press. Turn same long edges under 1” again; press. Topstitch folded edges to hem. Turn one long edge of each backing pieces 18 ½ x 9½” rectangle under ¼” press. Turn same long edges under ½” again; press. Topstitch folded edges to hem.
Layer cushion top on top of cushion back with wrong sides facing overlapping hemmed edges of cushion back pieces. Pin backing pieces and stitch along the edge as illustrated to secure them in place. Leave minimum 25cm opening. BINDING Sew 2½” binding strips together end-to-end using diagonal seams. Open seams and press the long binding piece in half with right sides facing out. Pin the binding to a cushion front approx. 5” away from the corner. Start stitching binding strip with ¼” seam allowance, leaving an approx. 3” tail. Stop stitching ¼” before the edge of the cushion. stop stitching ¼”from the edge
Clip the threads. Remove the cushion from under the machine foot. Fold the strip in a motion of 45˚ and upward, pressing with your fingers.
Hold this fold with you finger, and bring the strip down in line with the next edge, making a horizontal fold that aligns with the top edge of the cushion. Start sewing again with a ¼” seam allowance.

Stop stitching before you reach the last 4-5”. Lay the loose ends of the binding flat along the edge, folding the ends back on themselves where they meet. Press them together to form a crease. Using this crease as the stitching line, sew the two open ends of the binding with right sides together. Trim seam to ½” and press open. Turn binding to back of the cushion and hand stitch it down using a matching thread.
