To begin with, this pattern is worked very simply and in a spiral formation– MARK YOUR FIRST STITCH as it is always hard finding your way back. The final row is a picot edging and if you want you can add a sequin with each picot made.

The tree is made of seven cones – each begins exactly the same, just with two rows added with each round with each new cone – then 3 rounds are added to the final cones.

CONE 1

Commence with either a magic circle or a chain 4 and join with ss

Round 1: Ch 1 (does not count as a st), 6 dc into circle, join with ss to first dc made (6 dc)

Round 2 : (2dc in next stitch, dc in next 2 sts) repeat once more (8dc)

Round 3 : (2dc in next stitch, dc in next 3 sts) repeat once more (10dc)

Round 4 : (2dc in next stitch, dc in next 4 sts) repeat once more (12dc)

Round 5 : (2dc in next stitch, dc in next 5 sts) repeat once more (14dc)

Round 6 : (2dc in next stitch, dc in next 6 sts) repeat once more (16dc)

Picot round – ch1 (does not count as a st) dc in same st – *ch3 (add sequin here) – sk 1 st, dc in next st repeat from* to end – ss into first dc made – fasten off, weave in ends.
