Students attending Catholic, private, or public schools who qualify academically and desire to pursue the scholastic, athletic, and spiritual program offered at Bishop Kenny High School are welcome to apply. Admission is granted regardless of race, sex, creed or national origin, on a space-available basis. Ninth grade admission is contingent upon promotion from the eighth grade with no significant disciplinary history.

ADMISSION AND SUMMER SCHOOL A two-week pre-ninth grade summer program is required for students who score in the lowest local quartile of the High School Placement Test. Admission to Bishop Kenny High School is subject to successful completion of this program. The maximum tuition and fees for this program is $350.00. Students who must attend this program will be notified prior to registration in March 2022.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE Representatives of Bishop Kenny High School will visit the Catholic elementary schools during the week of February 14, 2022 to distribute registration materials. Completed registration packets and fees will be picked up on Thursday, March 3, 2022.

ACADEMIC PLACEMENT Ninth grade placement in English, math and science classes will be based on the results of the High School Placement Test, current Terra Nova test or other standardized test results, and eighth grade teacher recommendations. Notification of placement will be mailed early May 2022.

The High School Placement Test will be administered at Bishop Kenny High School on Saturday, January 22, 2022. This test is mandatory for all students who anticipate enrolling in the ninth grade in the fall of 2022. A $25.00 fee will be charged for this test.

SCHOOL-ISSUED iPad Every Bishop Kenny student will be issued an iPad at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year. Bishop Kenny leases the devices from Apple Corporation. The annual iPad usage fee is equal to 1/3 of the lease price per device. The fee includes AppleCare+.

The iPad must be returned to the school at the end of each school year.

eTEXTBOOKS Students will purchase and download the majority of their textbooks – eTextbooks – directly to their schoolissued iPad. In rare cases where an appropriate eTextbook is unavailable, a hard copy text will be required. Workbooks may also continue to be a hard copy item that will need to be purchased.

LEARNING RESOURCE PROGRAM Consideration for admission into the Learning Resource Program at Bishop Kenny High School is based upon: • Indication on the Application for Admission of a diagnosed learning disability • A current psychological report (dated no later than May 1, 2019) which must be submitted with the Application for Admission

BUS TRANSPORTATION FINANCIAL AID PROGRAM Bishop Kenny High School offers a financial aid program which provides limited financial assistance to needy students. The online application for financial aid must be completed online by March 31, 2022. The application can be found at www.bishopkenny.org.

Bishop Kenny High School owns and operates comfortable, safe, and modern coach buses providing daily transportation to and from: • Ponte Vedra and the Beaches • Jacksonville’s Southside and East Arlington • Mandarin, Julington Creek, and St. Johns • North Jacksonville, Yulee and Fernandina Beach Transportation cost per student: $1,400.00 round trip or $790.00 one way for the school year.
