IRA’S AND INSURANCE POLICIES
A retirement asset such as an IRA or 401(k) makes an excellent bequest. If your IRA were given to your family, much of the value would be depleted through taxes. By designating BMHS as the beneficiary of part or all of your IRA, the full value of your gift is transferred to us tax free and your estate receives a charitable deduction.
“When Peggy and I began working on our wills and doing our estate planning, we wanted to provide as much as possible for our loved ones. Among those loved ones is Bishop McNamara High School. Bishop McNamara has been a source of life, light and hope in our lives. We want to do our part to pay it forward to future generations of Mustangs. It is truly an honor to be a part of The 1964 Society at Bishop McNamara High School."
- Dr. Marco Clark ‘85 and Mrs. Peggy Clark

Leaving a Legacy
We all desire significance - but what kind of legacy do you want to leave?
For many of us, there is a feeling of being called to make a difference with our lives. This leads us to think about what we will leave behind after we are gone, including to charities in our estate plans.
• Your Long-Range Plans
You may consider arranging for charitable gifts through your will, a trust or other estate plans. Be sure to use the full legal name of any charitable recipient remembered in this way. We would be honored to be part of your charitable plans after you have provided for others you wish to benefit.
•
Special Giving Options
Some plans help you structure gifts that feature special benefits for you or others before making a gift to a favorite charitable recipient. You can arrange a fixed or variable income for yourself or your loved ones while also providing for charitable purposes at a time in the future you determine. Giving in this way can result in a large charitable deduction that may provide both current and future tax savings. Some even choose to use a Donor Advised Fund or Family Foundation to facilitate their charitable gifts.
For more detailed information on these and other giving options, please consult with your attorney or financial advisor.
