THE ROOTS WITHOUT THE ROOTS
WENFENG LIAO
At first I wanted to find mushrooms in the forest in sequerciani. I was walking on a road, or maybe a dry river bed with forests on either side. I found a kind of mushroom that grows at the junction of the trunk and the roots. Then I noticed these tree roots. They can be washed away by the rain, or eaten by insects, or decomposed by fungi and scattered on the river bed. I collected about thirty tree roots and brought them sequerciani to Berlin. Now, I'm starting to portray them…
