This flavorful water is spicy, slightly sweet yet sugar free, and highly diuretic. Use it as the base for smoothies, or make it without the spices and grab a glass whenever you’re thirsty to replace regular water. This is a great way to use pineapple peels instead of throwing them away.

Makes 4 cups

1 organic pineapple (skin only) 1 cinnamon stick 4 allspice berries 2 cloves 5 cups water

Clean the pineapple peel by scrubbing it with a brush under hot running water. Combine the pineapple peel, cinnamon, allspice, cloves, and 5 cups water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat and simmer for about 30 minutes. Turn off the heat and cool. Strain, discarding the solids. Transfer the pineapple water to a jar and keep refrigerated or at room temperature.
