When juicing parsley, it’s better to start slowly. There’s a big difference between adding a little chopped parsley on your bruschetta, and taking it in concentrated doses that go directly to your bloodstream. The juice of this innocent-looking herb is highly detoxifying, which may make you feel like you are having a bit of an out-of-body experience if it’s the first time you are taking it in such high doses.

1 apple 2 celery ribs 1 cup escarole ½-inch piece ginger, peeled ½ cup nut milk (page 41) or seed milk (page 53) 1 tablespoon ground flaxseeds

Juice the first four ingredients. Add the nut or seed milkand flaxseeds, and stir well with a spoon.

Boost the energetic power of this shake by adding hemp and maca powders to the blend. You can also add one teaspoon of chia seeds to each glass to literally swipe those toxins out of your body. Stir them in with a spoon and let the seeds sit for five to ten minutes, to give them enough time to absorb some water and grow.
