fter your “Spring” clean out maybe it is time to take a long look at your home. Maybe this is the time you want to “spruce up” a room or two by adding some color or re-tiling, or maybe just “get into this century of updating.” In the past the trends were dominated in the tech-obsessed décor of 2018, with it’s stark contrasts, sharp lines, and hard utilitarian surfaces. Fortunately, 2019 is trending toward a softer look, using more color and natural materials. Here are some ideas for introducing more natural elements to your home. subdue the grays and warm the room. The subway tiles are still in use but finding more pattern differences than just the straight line off-set. For instance, Herringbone and Basket Weave are just a few of the different designs now being used. As for the rose gold of 2018, there will be less of this and more metallic objects introduced into the décor of the home. Copper accents mixed with additional metals bringing out the reds and orange tones making a more earthy hue. Older fabrics, such as large print patterns and velvet, are seeing a resurgence. Once viewed as luxurious yet funky, the multidimensional patterns and velvet sofas and settees are leading the way for being the most desired trend for 2019. This decorating trend has been around in this year and gaining popularity. However, we will also see floral patterns in a new light. Decorators expect to find exaggerated proportions and contrasting colors used for this timeless decor pattern. While muted colors prevent spaces from feel overwhelming, the 2019 trend is the use of bolder colors. The present belief is that 2019 will be a year where bolder colors are preferred. Richer hues throughout your home can make your more muted furnishings and decorative decor pop. Look for places you can use dramatic reds, or make a statement with pinks, bold yellows or organic green colors. In addition to the above suggestions, here are some other ideas seeing a comeback, in a new way. The use of bucket sinks, matte finishes on furniture, canopy beds, burnt yellow accent colors, metallic accents, and Artesian Lighting. Moving toward fresh, natural materials such as stone, copper, concrete, and granite. will help bring an organic and serene ambiance to any space while reflecting the world around your home. So bring on 2019 in your home.
