Blackhawk Community Safety Day By Blackhawk Police Chief Ian Hebert
T
hank you to the Blackhawk Community for joining us on our second annual safety event on Saturday, October 6th at the Blackhawk Sports Field. It was fun to see how excited the kids were to learn about the SWAT Bearcat armored truck, the Hostage Negotiation Team Mobile Command Vehicle, and the equipment the Search and Rescue team uses to save lives. The HOA provided food and refreshments. One of the highlights of the event was the police K9 demonstration when the crowd saw Ronnie take down a “bad guy in a bite suit. Blackhawk Clothing Drive The third annual Blackhawk Clothing Drive will be this month at the Blackhawk Main Gate. Please bring clean, gently used clothing to donate. If you can separate it into bags for men, women, and children clothing it would be very helpful to us. The clothing is donated to three Contra Costa County homeless shelters. Last year we collected over 80 large industrial size garbage bags full of clothing.
