an you believe it? Halloween is over and we are in the month of Thanksgiving. Where did the year go? Well, now is the time to begin planning for 2019! Yes, if you are thinking of buying or selling a home next year, you need to begin planning now. If buying a home in the near future is your priority, get out now and see the neighborhoods that excite you. Know the streets you prefer or the school districts where you want your children to attend school. If there is a specific floor plan or design in a community you desire, do some “drive-bys” and be aware of those addresses for future reference. See if you can have your realtor provide a set of recent sales within the past three to six months to determine estimated pricing of a home in that neighborhood. This can also indicate whether the market is moving up or down. Knowledge is everything in real estate, so prepare as much as you can. When you are ready to buy you will have the inside track and possibly make the best offer for your new home. If you are looking to sell, you must begin now in preparation for the coming new sales year! In our area, I have always suggested Valentine’s Day as the target for putting a home on the MLS (Multiple Listing Service). That is just about the time when buyers come out of the cocoon of winter and begin looking for homes. Also, this is a terrific time to catch those re-location buyers who might be making their first “location trip” to see about housing. It is the time for spring, and pretty flowers, and trees leafing out, and an overall joy that winter is over. Truly the best time to sell. In preparing for that day you can use the gloomy days of winter to clean out the unwanted items inside our home. Begin minimizing your personal items. It is best to package and store any and all small collectibles. This prevents breakage as well loss. Box your book collections and move and store these boxes to a corner of the garage. Look around, or have someone else come in and look around, and see what else can be done to make the home more sale-able. Your Friendly Neighborhood Realtor is always a good choice to help you see what is needed and what could be stored. Plan early, plan ahead…… So, here is wishing you, and everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving for there is really so much to be thankful for. Give your sons and daughters, your mothers and fathers, your nephews and nieces you love to pieces, give them a kiss and hug and tell how thankful you are for their love.
Come join the Blackhawk Bloomers at our
Holiday Luncheon & Gift Exchange on Wednesday, December 12th at 11:15 am in the Blackhawk Country Club Ballroom for
Social Time with Music. Presenter Kathy Koutz from The Flower Theory will explain how the Victorian language of flowers was used to convey romantic expressions: honeysuckle for devotion, asters for patience and red roses for love. She will create beautiful floral arrangements. She opened The Flower Theory in May 2017 in downtown Danville across from the high school in the “drive-through” charming little iconic building by the creek. Her mission is to help her clients bring little bits of inspiration and natural beauty into their homes.
