OF THE BLACK HILLS PLAYHOUSE
Seven and a half decades of seasons + many more reasons we love our audiences As we at the Black Hills Playhouse kick off our 75th Season, we want you to know that you mean the world to us. This season, we celebrate the evolution of the Playhouse from a little theater in the woods to a powerhouse of creativity that has given rise to innovative year-round theatre programs statewide. We also celebrate the alums, artists, donors, sponsors, and patrons who have been an essential part of our longevity and to whom we are very, very grateful. The handy calendars in this guide are designed to help plan show reservations. Check out some new and/or discounted opportunities! Buffalo Passes (4 flexible tickets at a discounted price) are available now through June 14 for the low price of $128! Reservations open for passholders online on March 1, with box office staff ready to help on March 2. Tickets for the general public go on sale April 1st. This summer promises to be a magical season filled with magnificent shows in Custer State Park. Like the bright South Dakota sun, you are the center of our universe. Here’s to a season of celebration and beautiful theatre. We hope you will join the party!

Rated PG
Felix Ungar, a neurotic, neat freak newswriter moves in with Oscar Madison, a slovenly sportswriter. Neither is quite sure why their marriages fell apart, but after they move in together to save money, they suddenly discover they’re having the same conicts they had in their marriages. In a hilarious twist, BHP fan-favorites Jeff Kingsbury and Dan Workman will switch between lead roles every other performance, making this one twice the must-see!

Welcome to the Renaissance! Set in the ‘90s--the 1590s-- this hilarious smash musical tells the story of Nick and Nigel Bottom, two brothers who are desperate to write their own hit play while the “rock star” Shakespeare keeps getting the limelight. A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder features death, but in an upbeat, musical kind of way. Seven people are dispatched to the great beyond by Monty Navarro, an aspiring heir to the D’Ysquith fortune. Witty and ceaselessly entertaining, A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder treats the audience to a classic farce with stunning operatic singing and Edwardian style.
