April - June 2018
PRESIDENT’S REPORT The Sporting Precinct with new League, Soccer and Cricket Fields are certainly taking shape. Two (2) new grandstands are being erected with landscaping and walking areas that will compliment this project. This will be completed towards the end of 2018.
Hello Members, 2017 was another exciting year that seemed to come and go in a blink of an eye. It was a very busy year for Directors and Management as we worked towards completion of major projects, upgrading, refurbishing and the development of the Independent Living Resort at Reservoir Road. It is always a highlight each year in December to hold our Foundation/VIP Members Christmas lunch. This year we had 250 Members and partners attend. I am very thankful for their continued support to our Club and really appreciate spending this day catching up with friends and reminiscing. A presentation was given with a look into what is envisaged for the Independent Living Resort Development.

Which is a total of 53,245 Members. Our General Manager resigned late September 2017 and I thank Brad Woodhead and Frank Raiti for working together at the helm until a new CEO is found. We are in final throes of appointing a new CEO as this goes to print. The Board is looking at options to revitalise the Main Club by revamping the Jack McNamara Lounge to create an inviting atmosphere for family and friends to enjoy. We continue to support local charities and we are proud of our involvement in community events including the ‘Police Officer of theYear Award’ which celebrates 30 years and I was asked to be on the judging panel again. I am amazed at just what the people do in their daily jobs to try and keep our area and members safe. I pass on my thanks from all of us to the Police Officers and to Rotary for the remarkable job they do in organising this event.
View from existing baseball field A question was asked at the 2017 AGM, “If we fully expended our Directors Expenses?” and if not, could we inform members at the next AGM what amount is actually spent. These Directors Expenses run from AGM to AGM and I will therefore endeavour to give an up dated figure at the AGM which will be held on the 8th of April 2018 in the Diamond Showroom. I would love to see you there. Thank you to our members for all your support, and we will continue to work together with Board and Management into the future. Until next time, Keep Smiling and be kind to each other
