CLUB PRESIDENT’S REPORT Hello Members, Our Group CEO, Dale Hunt has settled in nicely. I am sure the members will be pleased with steps he is taking to ensure our Clubs thrive and moves forward in a fast-moving club arena. Clubs cannot expect to rely solely on gaming revenue. The Board and Management are looking to diversify so we can provide and add further amenities for our members. The membership drive has been so popular that we have decided to keep it running indefinitely. If you are already a member take advantage of the sale of 1year for $6.00, 5years for $20.00 or 25years for $50.00 to extend your membership. If you know someone who wants to join please let them know. Our Annual Children’s Christmas Party will be held at Workers Hubertus Country Club. I am sure you will all enjoy this wonderful venue as it provides plenty of area. This year we have camel rides, waterslides plus added shows and attractions to our regular rides. Members children up to 15 years of age can attend. Register by 15th November to receive a gift bag, drinks, fairy floss, popcorn, sausage sizzle and snow cone. Courtesy bus services will run between our venues. We owe it to our members children to make this a “WOW DAY” so let’s all work together to make it happen. The Board and I look forward to our “Tin Shed/Foundation and VIP Christmas Party". These members have contributed over 50 years membership to our Club. They are the backbone of our Clubs success and we appreciate them very much. It is lovely to talk and reminisce with them. The Workers Sports Precinct will be handed over by the builders soon. Garry Allen and his team will now attend to the landscaping to be ready for the official opening early next year. It is the largest privately-owned sporting complex in Australia. Another gem for our Workers brand that we can be proud of and of which many children will receive the benefits as they strive to excel in sport. I would like to thank my Board, Management 2017 Tin Shed, Foundation & VIP Christmas Party and staff for the extra effort they have put in this year. Without a CEO for over seven (7) months, it was a lot of pressure to keep things running smoothly and ignore rumours. Everyone is now energised and excited as we look ahead to a promising future. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I hope you can spend time with family and friends. If you find you are on your own please come to the Club, where you can find a friendly face. I invite you to attend the Directors Thank You Draw so we can personally wish you Merry Christmas. We will be holding a draw at Workers Blacktown and Workers Sports. Thank you all for the support everyone from members to Management show me and my colleagues. The Club needs us all to work together as a team. Condolences to members who have lost love ones and friends. Our thoughts are with you. Keep Smiling and Be Kind To Each Other

Group Chief Executive Officer’s REPORT

Dear Members It has been a whirlwind couple of months around the Workers as we move towards the end of year and work on our Club becoming more focussed on our core values and delivering to our members. Sometimes you need to stop, take a breath and look around you…. and that is what we have been doing this last month. We have been listening to customers and staff, and started to put together a plan to grow our business into the future. This will continue into the months ahead and I urge you, to complete the member surveys and feedback forms available so we create the Club that you want and deliver the services that you need as a member in the future. With the completion of the Sporting Fields at the Workers Sports Club, it is now time to look at our Main Club and give our members a more enjoyable and exciting venue to visit. We expect to be showing members some concepts before the end of the year and plan our refurbishment to start in the new year including new food and entertainment offerings for all to enjoy. Following feedback from members, you will also see that changes to our food and promotions have begun to occur and I am happy to say that catering has certainly proven a success with more people enjoying their meals and a higher level of customer satisfaction being recorded.

“make it even better and more exciting for the children attending” With building works happening around the Sports Club and about to start at the Main Club, it was the right time to move our Kids Christmas party to Hubertus Country Club and at the same time to make it even better and more exciting for the children attending. This will be challenging in the first year but we are working hard to make it our best yet and set a great standard for this wonderful tradition to continue for years to come. For members children it is a free event and this year we have on offer, carnival rides, acts, entertainment and much more so I certainly encourage you to take advantage of your membership and have a great family day out. As Christmas and the end of the year now approaches, I would also like to say thank you for your support of the Club and the part you play in making the Workers, the special place that it is today Kind regards

2018 Club & Community Awards - Winners Youth Leadership Award.

B UILD ING L IVES THAT M ATTE R FEATURE STORY

At the 2018 Clubs & Community Awards, we were honoured to be recognised for our outstanding contributions in “Youth Leadership”. Blacktown Workers Club Group have been busy this year building lives that MATTER, matter not only to the individual living them but to the families that they are part of and to the community in which they live. Let’s break down a well-known saying “when there is a will, there is a way”. If you are determined enough, you can find a way to achieve what you want, even if it is very difficult. The children in our local schools are our future. Most of them are determined, they do have a “will” to learn, to strive, to move forward. Unfortunately, some children don’t have the right tools, surroundings, up-bringing and some have special needs, physical challenges or speech difficulties. There is a “way” for these children. Introducing The Clontarf Foundation and The Learning Links Foundation. This year we stepped up our efforts past anything ever done before to create an amazing opportunity for our community members to grow, enjoy life and valuably contribute to the community in which they live. •We took local Aboriginal & Torres Straight Islander youth and built a sporting event which lowered unemployment, understand their own value and build an exciting future for themselves; •We took local kids and built a pathway to improve their lives from under 6 rugby league through to NRL first Grade; •We helped local children reduce bullying and live a more fulfilled life by providing free speech pathology services to children in need; •We spent more than $30 Million on world class sporting fields to reduce obesity and health problems in local children; •We created new employment opportunities for local youth to improve employment rates and offer higher opportunities for success; Blacktown Workers Club Group has and will continue to change lives. We would like to extend our thank you to both foundations and to everyone involved, helping us to attain the 2018 Youth Category Winners at the Clubs & Community Awards Night. Winning this award is just a bonus, the real award is working with the Clontarf Foundation and the Learning Links Foundation, helping the youth, their families, our future live the best possible lives they can. Building Lives that matter. #giveyourbest

We are pleased to announce that at the recent Club Industry Awards, Blacktown Workers Won the award for being the Industry leader in supporting youth. As stated by ClubsNSW "Blacktown Workers have really stepped up their efforts in the last year, more than anything they've ever done before". #giveyourbest

SANTA IS ON HIS WAY TO HUB ERTU S ! FEATURE STORY

FREE CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS PARTY YES you heard it here first! Santa is visiting the Workers Hubertus Country Club for one day only. Mark the date in your calendars, Sunday 2 December 2018! From what started as a picnic for members and their families in a park more than 50 years ago the Workers Children’s Christmas Party has grown to what it is today. It has moved from place to place, from the footy fields out the back of Patrician Brothers Blacktown to Blacktown Showground to the more recent Blacktown Workers Sports Club. “My father used to come home holding up the tickets for the Workers Children’s Christmas Party and there was great excitement as we awaited the big day. My family has continued the

6

tradition with me taking my children and now my children taking their children” - Kerry Toms. We continue to keep the Christmas spirit alive with families from all over Western Sydney coming together to celebrate the year and to celebrate the Workers Family as a whole. We are turning a new stone and making it bigger and better this year, holding the ever-growing Children’s Christmas Party at Workers Hubertus Country Club. And yes, we did say bigger and we did say better! Roll up, roll up, ladies and gentlemen! girls & boys! Children of ALLLL Ages…. Step right up! And enjoy the show. We are bringing our very own circus to the Workers Children’s Christmas Party complete with all the carnival rides, freshly prepared fairy floss, hot buttered popcorn and chilled snow cones. Experience the thrill of the ‘ships in the desert’ with your very own camel ride. Take a splash on the waterslide or the wheel of a dodgem car for a rattling good time. Be mesmerised by magicians, captivated by stilt walkers, get dizzy with hula hoop performers, be twisted by balloon artists, transformed by face painters all while being entertained with the magic and music of Christmas. The real excitement begins with arrival of the man in red. Just how will Santa arrive all the way from the North Pole? By plane, by bus, by boat… We will just have to wait to see. For those kids on Santa’s good list we have a special present waiting for you. Come one, come all, join all the fun and excitement as we celebrate Christmas with our families through the magic of our kids. We look forward to seeing you there. Remember to register your children before 15 November 2018 so they don’t miss out!
