L’idea del collettivo è nata in modo alquanto naturale; siamo amici da molti anni e condividiamo gli stessi

Tutto è cominciato dopo il nostro primo workshop, grazie a questa nuova avventura abbiamo nuovi amici e nuovi contatti ... insomma iniziamo a crescere!

How did the idea of opening Les Herbes de Paris start?

This idea came very naturally; we have been friends for severals years, and we shared the same tastes and

ideas. Everything started when we organized our first workshop, thanks to this, we had new contacts … in short, we started growing up!

Vogliamo sempre di più condividere con altri la nostra visione poetica della natura attraverso laboratori, matrimoni, eventi e collaborazioni con altri fioristi.

Dove hai trovato l’ispirazione per creare i bellissimi collage herbier che pubblichi su Instagram?

L’ispirazione maggiore è presa negli antichi libri botanici e nei nostri meravigliosi ricordi legati all’infanzia!

Siamo cresciuti in mezzo alla natura, con passeggiate nel bosco e in campagna e siamo spesso andati a visitare il Museo di Storia Naturale di Parigi, che ha una collezione davvero notevole ... e dove trovare migliore

ispirazione se non anche attraverso i loro giardini e le loro serre?

Sembrerà strano, ma il cimitero di Pere Lachaise è una delle nostre passeggiate preferite a Parigi.

Con la nostra amica Cécile di OzGarden ci andiamo quasi tutti i pomeriggi per ammirare l’arte funeraria. Si trovano delle tombe eccezionali, cappelle private e quasi abbandonate e un giorno abbiamo pensato di decorarle con i fiori, esclusivamente per onorare le “anime dimenticate”.

Where did you find the inspiration to create the vintage collage herbier?

We find our inspiration principally in old botanic books and in our memories of childhood!

We both grew up surrounded by nature, and also the Museum of Natural History of Paris has a very beautiful and inspiring collection… and after find best inspiration having through their gardens and greenhouse but also a stroll in the forest or in the countryside.

Tell us about the Ames Oubliées project.

Oddly enough, the Pere Lachaise Cemetery is one of our favorite walks in Paris.

With our friend Cécile from OzGarden we go there almost every afternoon to admire the funeral art. Graves are extraordinary and also private and abandoned chapels, and one day, we decided to decorate them with flowers, only to honor the “ âmes oubliées.”

Insieme tra i Fiori in Val d’Orcia Fiori di Puscina è un bellissimo progetto reso concreto dal duro lavoro e da una spiccata sensibilità di tre sorelle e di tutta la loro bella e grande famiglia. Ci siamo sempre sorpresi di come nel panorama italiano mancasse la volontà di provare una coltivazione “organica” o comunque eco-sostenibile di fiori recisi da poter utilizzare negli allestimenti per i matrimoni.

Mara, Teresa e Laura ci stanno provando!

Nei terreni a loro disposizione coltivano varietà spontanee e non che poi propongono nei loro bucolici allestimenti di tavole e chiese.

Con nostra estrema gioia siamo riusciti a creare una giornata intera in cui le tre sorelle hanno raccontato la loro storia: ci hanno mostrato le loro produzioni, il generoso “prato” spontaneo nel quale abbiamo potuto

Fiori di Puscina is a wonderful project that became real thanks to the hard work and the strong sensitivity of three sisters and all their nice big family. We were always amazed at how Italy lacked the will to try growing “organic” or otherwise environmentally sustainable cut flowers that could be used in weddings.

Mara, Teresa and Laura

are now trying this new experience! In their lands they cultivate both spontaneous and nonspontaneous varieties that they then use for their pastoral arrangements of tables and churches.

generous spontaneous “lawn” in which we could collect directly the “raw material”, the precious lake which supplies water for all crops and forested parts, which are not less important, as they are rich reserves of green and wild leaves.

After amazing our eyes of such beauty, the girls also organized a wonderful lunch near their farm: genuine

products flavoured with flowers, perfumes and simplicity!

Once refreshed, we went under the shade of three beautiful almond trees where we had set up tables to let participants free to arrange their compositions with all plant materials collected in the morning.

Their enthusiasm was truly angible!

Ghirlanda di Popcorn è nato in un periodo molto particolare della mia vita. Avevo bisogno di creare uno spazio tutto mio dove poter condividere ciò che amo e dare libero sfogo alla mia creatività. Da quel caldo giorno di giugno sono passati 5

anni e non smetterò mai di ringraziare questo mondo virtuale che mi ha dato l’opportunità di conoscere persone strepitose e di intraprendere interessanti percorsi professionali.

Ghirlanda di Popcorn was born in a very specific moment of my life. I had a dream to create a space only for me, where I could share what I love and feel myself free to express my creativity. From that day in June, 5 years later, I am and I will be forever

grateful to this virtual world, which gave me the opportunity to meet wonderful people and to get started with many interesting professional careers.

When did you realize to be so fascinated to paper?

I don’t think there was a specific moment!

Ho un grande e bellissimo sogno nel cassetto che spero un giorno di poter realizzare.

Nel frattempo lavoro molto e porto avanti con interesse ed entusiasmo la mia passione per il mondo del packaging.

Foxglove Botanicals Come è nata l’idea di lavorare con i fiori?

Da che ho memoria, mi sono sempre piaciuti e ho spesso cercato di lavorare con i fiori e con la natura. Già dall’età di 14 anni, dopo una breve esperienza in un piccolo negozio di fiori, ho capito che era quello che volevo fare.

Da allora ho lavorato per molti fioristi,

aumentando la mia esperienza sul campo, ma volevo sempre di più, volevo più libertà nello sperimentare.

Così un giorno l’ho fatto! Io e mio marito abbiamo finalmente aperto la nostra attività, vendendo fiori e piccoli bouquet al mercato; eh sì, siamo partiti da qui.

How did the idea of working with flower start?

I have tried to be around flowers for as long as I can remember. I have always been so in love with flowers and wild nature. At age 14 I did some work experience at a small flower shop for one week and after that I knew it was what I wanted to do. I

then went on to work in a few flower shops which gave me amazing experience in the industry but I still felt I wanted more freedom to experiment and make flowers more the way I wanted to. So one day we just did it. My husband and I registered our business. We started off doing some market stalls selling wild posies and it went from there.

Disordinate e aggrovigliate. Sono così belle che cerco per quanto mi è possibile di imitarne la naturalezza nei miei bouquet. Mi piacciono tutti i fiori,

Per il prossimo anno abbiamo intenzione di aprire il nostro negozio di fiori, con vendita al dettaglio e realizzazione di composizioni floreali per eventi; al momento lavoriamo in una officina, e non ci basta più, quindi il prossimo 2016 ci porterà fortuna.

What fascinate you and what flower inspire you the most?

I’m really fascinated by wild nature. I love the way things grow in the wild. Messy and tangled.

It’s so beautiful. I try to mimic this as much as I can when arranging flowers. I’m fascinated by all flowers. Their colours and scents. I’m in love with them all.

Tell us about some new fantastic project for 2015.

For 2015/2016 we are hoping to open up a retail shop. We have a work shop warehouse at the moment. We are still getting everything ready to open up a flower shop. Hopefully this year or early next year.

Il giardino ha oltre 300 varietà di frutta, fiori, erbe ed ortaggi, tutti commestibili e biologici. I prodotti freschi vengono utilizzati per qualsiasi cosa, dalle insalate agli

sciroppi, fino ai liquori.

Una passeggiata attraverso i campi, dai quali gli ospiti sono invitati a raccogliere quello che desiderano, ci ricorda la gioia e la semplicità dei raccolti e dei cibi, come del resto è stato per secoli, ma che ora è così spesso dimenticata.

The most striking feature though is probably the 8 acres of formal gardens and orchards, designed with a rigorous structure but a whimsical character.

A stroll through the plentiful beds, which guests are invited to help themselves from, reminds of the delight and simplicity of growing, picking and eating, as it’s been for centuries but is now so often forgotten.

Nature morte italiane Com’è nata l’idea di queste foto?

Non c’è mai stata un’idea precisa! Io e Flavio abbiamo iniziato la nostra collaborazione venti anni fa e la nostra prima foto aveva come tema una cipolla, abbiamo scelto istintivamente una luce “fiamminga” per realizzare lo still life.

Questo specifico stile fotografico lo sentiamo molto vicino a noi, sia per sensibilità sia per metodo, paragonabile alle classiche nature morte pittoriche dove i vari soggetti di fiori, frutta e oggetti d’uso venivano raffigurati con una luce naturale e diffusa molto particolare e di grande effetto.

A quali nature morte ti ispiri?

Quelle di Caravaggio in primis. E poi i pittori fiammighi: Pieter Claesz, Rembrandt, Veermer, Giovanni Rosa, Pieter Boel, Jan De Hem...

Parlaci del concorso International Garden Photographer of the Year.

Dopo aver scoperto che vi potevano partecipare anche fotografi di still life, mi sono detta “Proviamo” e su 18mila fotografi sono arrivata fra i finalisti dell’IGPOTY 8 !

Una curiosità sulla foto, i fiori di luppolo li ho raccolti nella campagna torinese e la composizione è stata illuminata semplicemente attraverso la luce naturale di una finestra.

Invece la zuppiera contiene delle piccole mele prese facendo un’offerta all’Abbazia di Vezzolano, uno dei più importanti monumenti medievali del Piemonte, dove l’associazione Frutteto di Vezzolano coltiva le antiche varietà di meli dei monaci.

Mi hanno portato fortuna, sarò sempre grata a questo posto pieno di fascino e spiritualità.

How did the idea of this photo come up?

There has never been a specific idea! Flavio and I have started our collaboration twenty years ago and our first photo had, as a topic, an onion.

We instinctively chose a “Flemish” light to create the still life. This specific photographic style is something we feel very close to us, for its sensitivity and its method, comparable to the classic painting still life where the various subjects like flowers, fruits and objects were drawn with a natural and diffused light very unique and impressive.

Which is the still life you look at to get your inspiration?

I look at Caravaggio’s one in the first place.

And then at Flemish painters: Pieter Claesz, Rembrandt, Veermer, Giovanni Rosa, Pieter Boel, Jan De Hem… Instead as a contemporaneous realist painter I look at

Tell us about the participation of the International Garden Photographer of the Year.

After having found out that even still life photographers could join in, I said to myself “let’s try” and among 18 thousand photographers I was one of those who reached the final of the IGPOTY 8! A curiosity on the photo, the hop flowers were picked up by myself from a Turin’s countryside. And the light used on the composition was just the natural one coming from the window. Instead, the soup tureen has got some small apples, that I got by giving a donation to the Vezzolano’s Abbey, one of the most important medieval monuments in Piemonte, where the association Frutteto of Vezzolano cultivate the ancient varieties of apples of the monks. They brought me luck, and so I’ll be always grateful to this place full of charm and spirituality.

Birmania floating garden Partendo da un piccolo canale, prima del sorgere del sole e attraversando la fresca nebbia del Lago Inle sembrava di essere ancora in un sogno. La temperatura era frizzante, mai te lo saresti aspettato, considerato il caldo torrido durante il giorno.

Il rumore delle barche turistiche è fortissimo, tutte insieme, sincronizzate, partono al primo chiarore. Ma in pochi minuti ci si ritrova soli in mezzo al lago, il giovane che ci accompagna non parla inglese ma i suoi sorrisi sono espressivi e ci

capiamo ugualmente, vogliamo visitare i floating garden.

Si tratta di zolle di terra spesse solo poche decine di centimetri, larghe meno di due metri e lunghe invece decine e decine di metri.

Una, due, tre persone e la zolla comincia ad affondare, meglio non esagerare.

Create con alghe e foglie mischiate con la terra diventano come delle vere zattere che vengono fissate in fondo al lago con delle lunghe canne di bambù, e sono poi coltivate come orti

Leaving from a small canal, before the sunrise and through the cool mist of Inle Lake it seemed to be still in a dream. Temperature was crisp, hard to believe, thinking about the scorching heat of the days.

The noise of the tourist boats is very strong, they all together, in sync, leaving with the first light. But in a few minutes you find yourself alone in the middle of the lake, the young boy who drives us around doesn’t speak English but his smiles are equally expressive

and we can understand each other, we want to visit the floating gardens.

The clods are only a few tens of centimeters thick, less than two meters wide and dozen meters long. One, two, three people up, and plate begins to sink, better not to overdo it.

Made by algae and leaves mixed with soil they become as real rafts fixed in the bottom of the lake with long bamboo poles, then cultured as floating gardens.

Consci di questa postura scenografica, i più pigri si radunano in

prossimità del passaggio dei turisti simulando questa posizione sperando forse in un “raccolto” migliore della pesca.

Nonostante ciò, l’acqua, le palafitte, le distese di fior di loto, i floating garden e la lenta pesca a remi ci fanno dimenticare chi siamo, cosa facciamo e perché siamo qui in questo luogo meraviglioso.

Aware of their scenic posture, lazy fishermen gather near the passage of tourists simulating this position, hoping perhaps in a better “harvest” than fishing.

expanse of lotus flowers, the floating garden and the slow fishing rowing make us forget who we are, what we do and why we are here in this wonderful place.

Our silver medal winning show garden focuses on encouraging the protection of UK wild plants (Crop Wild Relatives) that have genetic relationships with our important crop plants.

Quali sono le sfide che avete incontrato durante la realizzazione e l’organizzazione del cantiere?

Quando sono iniziati i lavori, il labirinto di bambù era già stato messo a dimora da diverso tempo; abbiamo dovuto prendere misure specifiche per proteggere le piante durante le lavorazioni del cantiere e usare ancor più precauzioni del solito contro il rischio di incendi, data l’alta infiammabilità della pianta specie nel periodo estivo.

Talvolta è accaduto di dover sospendere momentaneamente i lavori per consentire ai giardinieri di effettuare le lavorazioni in completa sicurezza.

In più, una delle caratteristiche della località del Masone è il livello superficiale della falda acquifera, che, se da una parte è favorevole allo sviluppo rigoglioso del bambù, dall’altra rende il lavoro più difficoltoso nella fase iniziale, quando si effettuano gli scavi e si gettano le fondazioni degli edifici.

Una foresta di bambù, un edificio particolare… ce lo racconti attraverso i numeri?

Durante una delle mie prime visite al labirinto, quando ancora non c’erano che i bambù e i prati, chiesi al Dr. Ricci quanti bambù fossero stati piantati.

Lasciando il sito mi domandai se i mattoni e i pezzi speciali che avremmo dovuto impiegare nella costruzione avrebbero superato quella cifra.

Adesso posso rispondermi: non solo l’abbiamo raggiunta ma l’abbiamo più che raddoppiata, infatti sono stati utilizzati 650.000 mattoni “normali” e 30.000 fra mattoni e pezzi speciali per i cornicioni, le modanature e i capitelli.

Devo però ammettere che il bambù vince comunque la sfida: nell’ultimo incontro, poco prima dell’apertura della struttura, la Signora Ricci ha ammesso che il numero delle piante non è più facilmente determinabile, vista la loro velocità di propagazione.

When we started the work, the bamboos labyrinth had already been in place for some time.

We had to implement specific measures to protect plants during the works and we had to be even more careful than usual to avoid fire risks, due to the high flammability of the bamboo, especially during the summer.

Sometimes we had to interrupt the works to let the gardeners operate safely in the labyrinth .

Moreover, the superficial level of the underground water is a special feature of Masone: this is very useful for a luxuriant growth of the bamboo, but when it comes to excavating and building foundations for a construction, this may be a problem.

A bamboo forest, a very special construction - tell us about it in numbers.

During one of my first visits to the labyrinth, when there were only bamboos and fields, I asked Mr. Ricci how many bamboos had been

planted. “About 300.000” was the answer.

When I left, I wondered if the bricks and special pieces we would use to erect the buildings would be as many.

Now I can say that we have more than doubled the figure, as we used 650.000 “standard” bricks and 30.000 especially made bricks and items (for ledges, mouldings, capitals and so on).

However I must admit that bamboos won the challenge: in our last meeting before the opening of the complex, Mrs. Ricci told me that the number of plants cannot be easily calculated any more, due to the very rapid propagation of bamboo.

Che sensazione hai avuto nel vederlo stampato?

Durante la preparazione del libro, forse perché realizzato strappando ore al mio lavoro e alla notte, non ho avvertito alcuna sensazione, era come se dovessi rispettare la scadenza di una delle solite consegne. In effetti l’assenza di emozione mi aveva un poco stupita.

Solo quando è arrivato a casa il corriere con la copia del libro, non appena ho visto e sfogliato per la prima volta, ho avuto una reazione che mai avrei immaginato.

Ho pianto, e anche tanto!

Per la gioia di avere tra le mani un libro che racchiudeva il

lavoro di tanti anni ma soprattutto perché mi piaceva, sì, devo dire che mi piace davvero tanto, dalla copertina, all’impaginazione al formato.

Cosa si prova a presentarlo in pubblico?

Mi piace portarlo in giro dalle mostre di giardinaggio alle librerie o altri luoghi dove le piante fanno da sfondo.

Il pubblico che partecipa agli incontri di presentazione è unito dalla grande passione per il giardino e le persone che ho di fronte le avverto come amici con i quali mi piace discorre e dai quali ho ancora tanto da imparare.

During the preparation of the book, maybe because I did it stealing hours to my regular work and at night, I did not feel anything. It was as if I had to meet the deadline of one of the usual deliveries. In fact I was surprised at my lack of emotions.

Only when the courier delivered a copy of the book and I saw it and touched it for the first time, I had a reaction that I never imagined.

I cried, and I cried so many tears!

I cried for the delight to have in my hands a book that contained the work of many years, but mainly because I liked it.

Yes, I admit I really like it all, from the cover, to the pagination format.

How do you feel when you talk about it in public?

I like to carry it around from garden exhibitions to libraries or other places where plants are the background.

People who attend presentations share a passion for gardens and I feel them like friends with whom I like to talk and from which I still have much to learn.

Plant hunters Polonia La nostra escursione botanica ha avuto come meta la Polonia.

Una volta atterrati a Varsavia, bellissima città ricca di storia, ci siamo diretti verso est per visitare quello che è stato lo scopo principale del nostro viaggio, la foresta di Białowieża, posta tra la Bielorussia e la Polonia

polacca si estende per circa 100 chilometri quadrati.

Il nucleo più antico ed interessante della foresta, nella parte polacca, non supera i 47 chilometri quadrati ed è prevalentemente pianeggiante.

Questo settore è severamente protetto e vi si può può accedere esclusivamente Questa rappresenta accompagnati da una l’unico residuo dell’ guida autorizzata. Our botanic excursion had Poland as a destination.

Once we landed in Warsaw, beautiful city full of history, we headed towards the West to visit what the main purpose of our trip was, the forest of Bialowieza, located between Belarus and Poland.

It represents the remains of the very extended main forest (known in Polish as Puszcza) that was, many years ago, over all Europe.

In Belarus’ land the reservation covers about 1771 km squared instead in Poland’s land it extends till 100 km squared.

The most interesting and ancient nucleus of the forest, in the Polish area, doesn’t go over 47 km squared and it’s mostly flat.

This territory is severely protected and you can access in it exclusively if you are accompanied by an authorized guide.

In this area, the land, sometimes marshy, is covered by dominant species like: white hornbeam (Carpinus betulus L.), lime-tree (Tilia cordata Mill.), oak tree (Quercus robur L.) red fir tree (Picea abies (L.) Karst) and the hazel tree (Acer platanoides L. Casylus Avellana L.).

Accanto agli sconfinati parchi ufficiali, i giardini botanici, lo zoo, il verde disseminato per la città delle aiuole spartitraffico, dei giardini condominiali e delle scuole, trovano

spazio, è proprio questo il caso di dirlo, anche luoghi strappati al degrado o semplicemente “presi” e trasformati da gruppi di cittadini e comitati.

Per caso, sulla strada alla ricerca di un altro, ho trovato il Prinzessinengarten , orto giardino recintato che ospita alla domenica un mercatino delle pulci tra le rosse cassette

Monkey forest La Sacred Monkey Forest è un parco aperto dove le scimmie vivono libere, sono tantissimi macachi, più di 600 individui, che ormai sono padroni di tutta l’area.

Il parco, molto vasto, è esteso su quote differenti, il percorso è fatto di molte scale in pietra lavica inframezzate da aree di sosta costellate da statue bellissime e vasche d’acqua, all’interno del sito si trova anche un tempio composto di pagode e padiglioni dalle raffinate decorazioni balinesi.

Lungo il cammino del parco visitiamo e scopriamo la foresta, la bellezza della natura selvaggia, che qui è più che mai imponente e strabiliante.

Durante il tragitto si attraversa anche un maestoso ponte in

pietra, arricchito ai lati da sculture che raffigurano dragoni e serpenti, la sua struttura è ormai inglobata nelle radici e nei tronchi degli alberi che lo circondano; una conformazione vegetale veramente spettacolare.

Tutta la zona è ricchissima infatti di altissimi alberi come i classici Ficus superba var. “Henneana”, i Ficus benghalensis e i Ficus benjamina, impressionanti, maestosi e magnifici.

Ma anche rigogliosi Eucaliptus Sp., Cocos nucifera, Plumeria sp. e Murraya paniculata, fino ad arrivare a piccole felci e bellissimi cuscini di muschio verde che ricoprono i lunghi muri di cinta del parco lasciando però intuire le decorazioni antropomorfe in pietra nera sottostanti.

Siamo Laurence Cabantous francese e Giorgio Sabbatini italiano, eravamo flower designers e vivevamo in Italia nelle Marche. Le nostre creazioni multisensoriali spaziavano dal design al fashion, i nostri allestimenti non erano solo di fiori, ma

amalgamavamo con suoni, profumi e maxi proiezioni fotografiche.

Il tempo passava e lo stile di vita all’europea stava iniziando a starci stretto. Cercando nuovi stimoli in Asia abbiamo scoperto che l’isola di Bali sembrava il posto giusto per vivere.

We are Laurence Cabantous from France and Giorgio Sabbatini from Italy. We were flower’ designers and we used to live in Italy, in Marche region. Our multisensorial creations used to go from design to fashion. Our outfitting weren’t made only of flowers, but also of

E’ il parco più famoso dell’isola, è molto curato ed è davvero molto vasto, si estende su una superficie di 160 ettari, ed il tempo per visitarlo non è mai abbastanza.

Per raggiungerlo si percorrono numerosi tornanti, tutti in gran parte in salita poiché il parco si trova ad

un’altezza di 1.250 1.450 m.

Le spine più fashion della stagione sono quelle della Golden Ruby: foglie calde e preziose come gioielli e spine appuntite per la difesa del tuo balcone.

Sempre pronto a fiorire e a dare sfoggio delle sue teste coronate! I Bidens amano le api e le api lo sanno.

L’autunno è il tempo delle foglie morte, come vedi tutte le persone che si affannano a spazzare i loro prati perfetti e ben rasati?

C’è lo sporco polveroso di certe mimose, che ti sembra alieno, tipo una polverina gialla che ti trasforma in un ultracorpo.

chiamare l’indiano per pulire e potare, ti costringo a litigare coi vicini e a pagare le multe.

Ah ah!

loro veste sericea sul prato in un circolo colorato. Una camelia, una rosa, che macchiano di carminio virginale il verde del prato.

Non capisco perché distruggere la poesia e la bellezza di un tappeto di foglie che punteggia il prato di macchioline brunastre.

C’è lo sporco veramente zozzone degli oleandri, che lasciano cadere tutto, ma sì, fiore, foglie, baccelli.

Non so dire quanto mi gratifichi questa vendetta che gli alberi si prendono sulle persone, sulle amministrazioni comunali, sulle signore iper-perfette, sulla Grande Madre Massaia Mediterranea.

Tu vuoi pulito? e io ti sporco, tiè!

Mi spappolo tutto sui marciapiedi, sui sentieri, sul pratino, ti rovino, ti insozzo, ti costringo a spazzare, a rastrellare, a

E poi penso a questi alberi “sporchevoli”, liberati come pesci dalla nassa, dispersi tra prati e campagne, dove la loro sporcizia non sarebbe considerata insultante. Il gelso, ad esempio. Il tiglio, gli alberi con piccole bacche, il biancospino, la robinia.

Solo i re e le regine dei tempi antichi potevano permettersi di camminare sui petali.

Ho una particolare predilezione per gli alberi sporchevoli. Certo, c’è sporco e sporco. C’è lo sporco un po’ fastidioso dei platani quando lasciano cadere i frutticini, che hanno un odore soffocante, come di stantio, di un armadio tarlato lasciato chiuso per anni e poi aperto di scatto.

Che visione, che immensa bellezza un prato ricoperto da petali. Varrebbe la pena coltivare certe piante solo perché perdono i petali.

Autumn is the time of dead leaves, how about all the people who work to sweep their perfectly mown lawns?

I do not understand why they destroy the poetry and beauty of a carpet of leaves dotting the lawn with brownish speckles.

I have a particular fondness for trees dirtiness. Of course, there are different types of dirt. There is the slightly annoying dirt of the plane trees when they drop their small fruits, which have a suffocating smell, like a musty wardrobe with woodworms left closed for years and then suddenly opened.

There is the dusty dirt of certain mimosas that seem almost alien, like a yellow powder that turns you into a body snatcher. There is the filthy dirt of certain oleanders, which drop really everything, flowers, leaves, and pods.
