RELATIONSHIPS DRIVE SUCCESS
At Boys’ Latin, students form meaningful relationships with faculty, which builds confidence — confidence that allows boys to challenge themselves to their full potential.
HONORS AND AP COURSES
EXCITING ELECTIVES
Juniors and seniors can select from a wide range of electives, from cyber security to crime in literature, to differential equations.
CHALLENGING CURRICULUM
Boys can take any combination of AP, honors and college prep classes across subjects. They can also seamlessly transition between different course levels from year to year as their academic strengths grow.
When boys are empowered to take charge of their learning, it sparks curiosity, and inspires them to earn the rewards of hard work.
BOYS’ LATIN IS PART OF GLOBAL ONLINE ACADEMY (GOA), a consortium of leading independent schools whose mission is to empower students and educators to thrive in a global society. With over 140 member schools in 31 countries, students can access 56 courses taught by instructors worldwide.
A WORLD OF
THE BOYS’ LATIN WILLIAMS SCHOLARS PROGRAM recognizes upper school students for outstanding academic achievements and commitment to the ideals of the School. These scholars receive enrichment funds for diverse summer academic programs, including robotics, sports industry management, psychology, public speaking and specialized programs like meteorology and hurricanes.
ACADEMIC OPPORTUNITIES
OUR CENTER FOR MILITARY HISTORY, located in the heart of our campus, is a museum, classroom space and research center rolled into one. Students engage in interactive classes, where they can touch actual artifacts and explore unique primary research documents. Electives in leadership and military history are also offered.
UPPER SCHOOL ACADEMICS
AS EXPERTS IN ALL-BOYS EDUCATION, we understand how boys think and learn. We provide opportunities for hands-on experiential learning, which fosters engagement and helps boys reach their full potential.
THE BL BUILDING LEARNERS
PROGRAM helps ninth graders discover their ideal learning methods and focuses on four key areas: understanding their brain, memory, study skills and executive function. Research indicates that understanding these areas results in improved classroom performance.
OUR HANDS-ON APPROACH
TO STEAM has boys building and driving go-carts, designing boats and assessing speed, cargo capacity, stability and construction costs, building real-life houses requiring four different electrical circuits and the list goes on and on.
IN OUR ARTS AND HUMANITIES CLASSES, boys are challenged to dig deeper and actively participate in their learning, from performing scenes from Macbeth in English to visiting the Gettysburg Battlefield in US History to understand the profound impact of terrain on military strategy.

UPPER SCHOOL VALUES
CHARACTER EDUCATION
at Boys’ Latin is intentional. In ninth grade, boys focus on team building. In tenth grade, they plan and implement a full-year community service project.
Juniors explore their roles as leaders, and our senior retreat fosters deeper connections and self-understanding.
OUR LAKER BUDDY PROGRAM allows upper school students to serve as big brothers and role models for lower schoolers. Whether helping with homework, spending time on the playground or sharing stories, they are building bonds that last a lifetime.
IN COLLABORATION WITH THE ONE LOVE FOUNDATION, the BL One Laker | One Love Club has been actively promoting healthy relationships for over a decade. Initiatives range from the all-School One Laker | One Love Day to an awareness campaign during Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month to sessions with lower and middle school boys that focus on the importance of building healthy relationships.
THE HONOR BOOK, a symbol of Boys’ Latin’s standards and expectations, is signed by each member of the upper school student body as a pledge to uphold our Honor Code.

ATHLETIC TEAMS
Striving to earn a win –always earning respect.
Athletics at Boys’ Latin is about setting goals, challenging yourself, overcoming obstacles and understanding the value of grit and hard work. While Boys’ Latin student-athletes give 100% on the playing field, nothing is more important than playing and competing with character.
UPPER SCHOOL ATHLETICS
AS MEMBERS OF THE MARYLAND INTERSCHOLASTIC ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION (MIAA), student-athletes participate at a very high level. Boys from every sport continue their athletic pursuits in college, participating in Divisions I, II, and III.
WORKING WITH OUR COACHES AND COLLEGE COUNSELORS, our studentathletes choose colleges that match their academic interests as well as their athletic goals.
WE EMBRACE THE MULTISPORT ATHLETE. As a small school, we provide opportunities and actively encourage boys to play multiple sports.
TEACHER-COACHES PLAY A PIVOTAL ROLE in guiding students to realize their full potential, both academically and athletically, by fostering meaningful relationships, building trust and promoting open communication.

THEATER. Boys can participate in any or all of our three annual productions as an actor, director or crew member. Our ‘Black Box’ theater, with its adaptable design, fosters creativity, imagination and bold experimentation.
VIDEO PRODUCTION. Students learn filming, editing, producing and storytelling. Through this dynamic learning process, students create ‘On The Lake,’ a show that covers campus life through interviews, stories and student perspectives.
The relationships that I’ve formed with faculty and other students, as well as the opportunities that I was able to take advantage of at BL, have made for
